1. Yes

3. You might have difficulty in getting a room in a decent hotel in Belgaum, as all of them are currently fully booked due to this (not sure till when this situation will prevail): https://allaboutbelgaum.com/news/win...m-december-13/

Thank you both for the suggestions. I will be travelling next Tuesday so hopefully should have rooms available. Fingers crossed the disturbances in the city also is over by then else family will not be ok with me travelling.

Hotel Adarsha palace and Hotel Sanman deluxe are decent hotels. Both are opposite each other and centrally located.

In both the hotels, ask for a room that is behind and not road facing. One cannot sleep due to too high traffic noise on the road if you choose a road facing room.

Re: Bangalore to Belgaum (NH4) condition?

Hello BHPians,

I am planning a trip from Bengaluru to Belgaum this weekend to attend my friend's wedding. Plan is to leave Bengaluru early in the morning on 29Jul - check-in and get freshened - attend the wedding reception - stay overnight - depart to Bengaluru on 30Jul morning. Had couple of questions enroute like route, breaks and stay. Please help.

1. Nelamangla - Tumkur - Sira - Hiriyur - Chitradurga - Ranebennur - Haveri - Hubli - Dharwad - Belgaum, is it the best route as of today? How is the road condition? I know upto Tumkur it is 4 lanes and post that it is 6 lanes. Its been a while since I traveled to Belgaum and never drove there.

2. Which are the best places to stop for breaks? (breakfast/lunch)

3. Any recommendations for affordable but well maintained hotels to stay near Auto Nagar?

This is the only option. Tumkur-Hubli is awesome 6-lane. Hubli-Dharwad bypass 4-lane works on going. If you start early you should already make it to Belgaum for lunch. For breakfast, you can plan Apoorva at Davangere bypass.

Under 5-6km you can look at Pai Resorts. Sankam is an old property, Not sure, how are they doing these days. If you need to splurge you have the Marriot!

Did this strech last weekend from BLR to BOM with halt at Belgaum. The roads are excellent. Took me 8 Hrs with a couple of short stops for meals and refuelling.

Plenty of decent places for breaks , don't need to plan, just stop when required.

I did a night halt at Fairfield Mariott which is located right on the highway.

Thank you both for the suggestions

Do I need to be worried for any speed cams or unexpected police interceptor on this stretch? What is the max speed on NH4, is it 100 or 120kmph?

I think the top speed is max 100 and on many stretches only 80. There are a fair few speed cams on the route - not sure if they are properly operational or not.
