Query about Jaladhama Resort, Talakadu

Folks,

I'm seeking the following information about this island resort:

1. How is it in terms of experience? Anyone stayed there?

2. Condition of roads to this place: I've lifted this map from their website.
Query about Jaladhama Resort, Talakadu-jaladhama.jpg
How are the roads? Any instructions please?

3. Any recommended activities surrounding the resort ? 1st half of April is the targetted timeframe.

Thanks in advance for your anticipated responses.

I have visited Talakadu around 1 month back and the road condition is pretty bad. Don't know if the roads has been rectified now. Regarding the other two queries, Not sure as I have not stayed there. Maybe somebody might chip in with the information. Here's the linky to my travelogue.(you have to read the lst paragraph for the road condtion) Hope this helps. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...lkad-back.html

@theMag - I had been to this resort last in 2004, as told by snaronikar the road conditions were pretty bad, not very sure if it has improved after you cross the NICE junction on Kanakapura road. The resort was a good experience, cars had to be parked in Talakadu (they had a security guard with fenced parking place) and a motor boat will ferry you across the river to the resort. The resort was a pretty well laid out place, good staff, the food was edible and the rooms were clean. You may not expect a resort quality like Angsana or Golden Spa. Facilities like fishing, paddle boating, cricket field etc. Camp fire and Discotheque was also arranged by the resort. We went during the bird migration season, some of my team member managed to wake up early for a motor boat ride to a spot near Talakadu for some photographs (this ride was arranged by the resort guys).

PM me if you need more details.

Regards

So theMAG, did you finally do this? Next month, our office team is going for an outing there. And I have already been to Shivanasamudram, around 2 years back (in Oct 2006), and as Joe says it, the roads were really really bad.

And this time, we are going to this resort. And Joe already disappointed me. Guess I'll have to live with my Whisky in the Jar

Didn't wanted to act like a dampner but what Joe said about roads is 100% true. I took around 1.5 to 2 hours for 21 kms recently.

See the proof yourself

@Pankaj,

Thanks for the heads-up. We have hired a Mazda bus, so the transport pains (but not the riding pains) can be set aside.

And, ouch! That is one bad hit you have got (in the last pic).

Will give an update of this trip (place + route) once I am back after Diwali. Cheers!

Welcome Bro!!!, yes the riding pains are gonna be there.

That damage is courtesy of a boulder burried in the road which i didn't noticed till the car hit it & yes All the best for trip. have fun

@pankaj:
Looks like the road hasn't changed much even after 2 yrs. Only that they 'covered' up the gravel with red mud now
