Need help in Deciding vacation spot near Pune

hi,

i am moving out of one job and would be joining at my new firm from the beginning of new year only. I would have some spare time to spend with my family for a week -- starting 22nd December till the 31st and need to plan a small trip near some good spot near Pune where we can go and unwind .. I know the weather is not usually warm in places @ Pune and Goa is ruled out since it would be too crowded to go and relax

--- any suggestions for a suitable family outing are welcome

Mods -if there are similar suggestions -- can we make it into a Poll?

There are other places like, Dive-agar, Harihareshwar, Ganpati Pule... Bu you should decide fast the last I checked MTDC resorts were fully booked for 30th & 31st Dec.

Mahabaleshwar..Will be an off season now.Awesome cool climate.

how did you manage a WEEK's bookings this late in the year? From what i hear from friends, Goa at year end is very costly and tough to get bookings. How/what did you manage?
