Did you check out mahindra homestays? Mahindra Homestays - Home

It will not give you that personal reference, but sure will throw you a host of options to do your initial shortlisting based on location, food, accommodation, pictures, etc.

In Feb 2010, we stayed at a home stay called Palace Estate near Kakkabe, virajpet. This is a good place with their own waterfall in the midst of a coffee plantation. Decent food and accomodation. Good approach road - 4 x 4 not necessary to access the place. I came to know of this place thro T-Bhp only and i was happy with my stay there.

You can get more info at their website. I recommend you can check out this home stay.

You are welcome !! But, if you are looking out for a pool or any indoor / outdoor games kind of facilities, the homestays may or may not have it. So, i feel it is better to look out for some good resorts.

Hi,

Last time when we visited, we stayed in Home Stay, I don't remember the name. I just have the contact No: 9739321912.

We were 4 families with kids.

Hospitality was good, food too.

Check it out.

Sorry to poke in this thread. We're on a trip from 14th to 18th Apr(Chennai-Mysore-Coorg-Chennai) & intend to stay at Coorg from 16th noon to 18th early morning. Can somebody help me show some pointers on accomodation? We've absolutely no clue as what we can expect as we're still going through forum & websites. Our budget per day for the room will around Rs 1000 including tax excluding food. We're 3 adults & 2 children of 2.5 & 0.4. Our expectaions are for a memorable trip & good accomodation. We're willing to stretch the budget on accomodation slightly on credit card payments. Also pls suggest some good vegetarian restaurants around here. I know its difficult to find veg restaurants, but pls.
Thanks & appreciate for any help.

Yes rajesh, we do have our homestay but I prefer not to speak about it on the forum, lest moderators think that iam publicizing it. Also, i do not ask tbhpians to stay at our place. I always try giving them options.

Hi Aargee. I dont think you would find a decent homestay for rs 1000 for 3adults and 2kids(iam assuming you need just 1room). I would suggest you stay in a hotel in such a case. For help on that please PM me,I will put you through to someone who can find a place for you. Regarding veg restaurants, You could try out Hill Town hotel or Aamantrana.

Hi KPGB, Solitaire exotica is a new hotel that has been recently opened and it is very close to our homestay. I heard the place looks good and there is always a lot of noise and music from there which can be heard very clearly at our estate. There is a negative review about the same on mouthshut.com
