Sagar -> hosanagara -> kodachadri -> kollur

This road is supposed to be in a good shape, as few months back it was repaired...but would suggest to do it in daylight!

Well people i did the Gonikopal-Madikeri-Sullia-Puttur-Dharmastala-BC Road- Mangalore route last week.
The roads from Gonikoppal to madikeri is good. From Madikere to Sampaje the route is horrible and has to be done on 2-3rd gear. Well I was driving a BOLERO. From sampaje to puttur the roads are ok but you got to keep watching out for Bad patches and bumpy roads. From puttur to dharmastala to bc road the roads are decent
In BC road the roads are not great as work is going on for the 4 lane. From theron till mangalore the roads are good but the mlr to udupi highway in mangalore is bad with frequent diversions near kadri to aj hospital stretch.

theMAG did the Bangalore-Tumkur-Tiptur-Shimoga-Kollur route in 7 hours, barely 320Kms. The road was pretty good, and he wants to return the same way.

Aye he changed routes again ? This was the 1st route I suggested while we spoke about a week back and then he said that he was keen on the Sakleshpur route and via Dhamasthala.

Samurai 320kms is too less for that route like sushrutha mentioned.

Well, that's what I recall him saying, may be there was a mistake. Anyway, he'll report his experience once he is back.

BTW, what is driving distance between Bangalore to Mangalore, say from Peenya to Pumpwell, isn't it around 325Kms?

After you turn left at Nelamangala cross, you will soon see a sign board that says Mangalore 325Kms.

I did measure it in my bike as well, it came out as 327km(that extra 2km probably due to nightstay in Hassan). From Mangalore International Hotel to my house came out as 375km (little high as I did a detour from CRpatna to Shravanbelagola and back to Hirisave on NH48)

Abhi
