I say go for it! Go to the workshop and learn how to take the tyres off. The front has a special tool.

If you get a puncture, just ride to the next puncture fellow. And that puncture can happen anywhere, even on NH48.
Thank you for the push, its just what I needed. Will do.

Re: Mumbai - Goa NH 66 | Latest info & updates on the brand-new (WIP) highway

I am planning a drive this week to konkan area (550 kms) but I don't think I will be able to clear the distance in one shot. Which place will be a good place to halt somewhere before it gets dark? Departure time around 7 am from Mumbai. I did a round trip till Nagothane in May on a Sunday but at the end of the 5 hour back and forth trip I was dead tired.

I guess your best bet is halting in Chiplun, 270-280 kms from Bombay, it would serve your needs.
I had planned Hotel Reemz, when I was to drive down in May, but ended up flying to Goa. Hence would suggest it and not recommend it.

All the best and have a great drive.
