Re: Query: NICE Road - Bangalore

In an era when a payment gateway +/- a website can be setup in minutes, here is a corporation like NECE which is raking in lakhs everyday and unable to setup a simple online recharge system. I am scared to do a E-Pay topup these days, as the damn thing takes so, so much of time. First to access the user details, then swipe a card/ load cash amount, wait for a print-out which surprisingly takes minutes compared to the seconds it takes for a regular cash trip-payment to be done. As usual by the time this is done, one is rest assured that he/she will be tone-deaf by incessant honking from impatient drivers waiting in line behind. Just to save others waiting behind of the trouble, I have stopped E-Pay topups at the booth - till the online recharge system is made available, if it ever is :-)

Regards,

Pawan

For NICE it will still be ONLINE recharge while for rest of us it will be IN-LINE .

Same here! Having fed up with the amount of the honking , I am now resorting to larger amount recharges and in cash. Cash recharge is much faster.

Re: Query: NICE Road - Bangalore

At Hoskarahalli toll yesterday noticed toll lane towards divider having RFID reader installed on both the directions.

As per my understanding none of the NICE road cashless systems used RFID, so wondering what it is for. Didn't find the same on Hosur road exit toll booths though.

Re: Query: NICE Road - Bangalore

Today morning i received a message from NICE as below:
"Dear NICE e-Pay customer, we are pleased to inform NICE e-Pay is live on Paytm for recharges."

I checked on the NICE portal and there was no payment gateway to Paytm. Neither could I find anything on the Paytm app.

Will check with the toll on Monday as I am not in office today. Any fellow Bhpians have any idea, please enlighten us.

Re: Query: NICE Road - Bangalore

Finally an hassle free payment method!

Thanks Hemanth for the details. I can find it on my app too.

It has in fact mapped my current balance from e-pay to Paytm. Sweet!

Working now! I think it was a temporary glitch then.
This is indeed a huge relief. The thought of having to bear all those honkings while recharging at the exit/entry was taking away up to some extent the pleasure and convenience of using the cashless system all this while.

Just when I thought it was all good, here comes the spoiler.
Today tried to recharge NICE e-pay through Paytm and we've got the... Convenience Fee!!!
I tried to recharge around ₹500. I was levied some convenience charge. To understand the exact percentage, I gave ₹100 and here is what I got
Query: NICE Road - Bangalore-screenshot_20180730082048_paytm.jpg
at 0.35%, Debit card has the least percentage and Credit card is the highest at 2.18%. Paying via Net banking and Paytm Wallet attracts a convenience fee of 1.53%.
How much ever low it is, I don't like to give anything additional to this "costliest toll road in the country"
So I'll switch back to recharging at the toll. If any of you people reading this are behind me, please bear with the delay

Re: Query: NICE Road - Bangalore

Hemanth, convenience fee has been there from a week I guess, saw this on last Thursday. There is no accountability for this private road and all governments have been silent on this project.

Re: Query: NICE Road - Bangalore

So, no one really is bothered about the pathetic condition of the road? I have been riding each day holding on to my life! There are stretches with lose tarmac, where breaking is not possible on a bike! I spoke to the people around on the toll and ended up getting the AGMs number. Not sure who he's, but he's an arrogant snob. His simple response was don't take the nice road if it's that inconvenient. He mellowed down later and told he'll have it checked, if the cleaning of loose tarmac can be done regularly. It will take time to clean up the mess! Here's the number of the guy : +919686018826 in case you think the road is in bad condition maybe talk to him? If you guys have number of any higher ups please do share.

PS: I'm not sure if the number should be shared here, but hey! They are supposed to be at our service and this should be a number which NICE infra would have provided. So I'm hoping this isn't PI.

True it's really pathetic. All this deterioration has been in the last 1 week after this unexpected rain that's battering this part of the city from last Sunday. For motorbikes, braking will imminently lead to a skid and fall in many parts especially in the direction towards EC. looking at the history, they'll only patch it up after this rains stop.

It's a private property and their arrogance is expected. They are not expected to be at our service. IIRC only the BMIC is not private property but the PRR is.
