Hope the rain water finds its way to elsewhere when the highway is opened for traffic. Would it by design to slow down the vehicles while approaching the toll booth .

Went for a short bike ride in Bangalore-Mysore expressway (I went up till Mayaganahalli from NICE road-Mysore Road junction. So not sure about the status beyond that) yesterday (28th Aug). Noticed the following:-

- The flooding reported near the toll booth has receded completely. But I guess this might happen again if not taken care structurally.
- The Bidadi bypass has been opened both sides and it was an absolute joy to ride. The main tarmac is complete but some work left on the service roads.
- Toll collection has not started yet so if you enjoy riding on a new tarmac, you should visit. I am planning for a longer ride on 31st Aug.

P.S: As usual there are some idiots driving in the opposite direction in couple of areas so we have to be careful.

It is unfortunate to bring in rants here rather than a development update of the e-way.

But looking at the state of the under construction roads/flyovers, it is scary. Where would this water go when the road is ready? Will there be a proper drainage? If so, that drainage is the first thing to be built right?


Wondering how did these cars reach upto that point? Electricals still ON!

Hope fully this is sort of water test (call it as a drainage stress test of expressway), should give a clear indication about the problem and challenges during heavy rain.

What is important is, the express authority should now clearly knowing the issue, should address the same before fully commissioning of the expressway.

Looks more like a cost-cut construction. The main expressway should have maintained it's level, and the elevated service road should have been higher.

By making the main expressway dip a bit, this has allowed the height of the service roads to be reduced - thus reducing the cost at that part of the expressway.

Next week is a week away. Hopefully things will have settled down. Suggest check again by the weekend /2 days before you travel.

I was bracing for the worst on my drive to Ooty through Mysore (from JP nagar) today morning. But ended up reaching Mysore in 2 hours on an unrecognisable Mysore road! The bypasses help save a lot of time.
And being an early weekday morning, the town traffic in mandya etc was thin.

Yes, I know a few people who traveled today. No issues at all. In fact, 3 bypasses (Bidadi, Ramanagara, Channapattana) are opened.

Traveled to Wayanad today. No issues with the road till Chennapatna.

We took the malavalli route as suggested by google instead of taking the Mandya route.

This route via malavalli isn't that great but managable. Not sure of the main highway status around mandya

KA state government has issued an advisory to avoid Mysore road for the next four days. Weather forecast also says heavy rain till Sept 9.

Folks who need to travel to Mysore, pls take note.

Hi! Has anyone travelled this way since yesterday ? I would be driving to mysore tomorrow early morn . Will be helpful if I could get some inputs. I drive a vw passat UK model and it's low slung.

My family travelled today morning to Bangalore from Mysore, no waterlogging.
Keep an eye out as overnight rains can play spoilsport.

Google map shows road closed at Ramanagara entry in Bglre-Mysore direction. Is the vehicles diverted in opposite lane or service lane?
