Thanks for the quick responses. Google maps is showing this route. Anyway will go through Sullia. What about the road condition between Kukke and Dharmasthala? |

Kukke to Gundya is very good. But you need to take the Kukke-Nelyadi road. This road had water overflowing on it. So dont know how it is today post monsoon. The route further up from NH48 is rough. Not all that great. Maybe you can drive to Gundya and then continue on NH48 to take the Dharmasthala exit. Thats also an option. But let some one confirm on Kukke-Nelyadi road condition. |

The road to Kukke via Sullia from Shanivarasanthe is almost 100 km more compared to Bisle ghat road. Is Bisle ghat so bad? I have an Tata ARIA. As per Google maps the distance between Shanivarasanthe-Kukke is 56Km, the same via Sullia is 148KM. |
Will check with locals before proceeding to Dharmasthala. Via Gundya means NH48. Is the section between Gundya to Dhamasthala open? Asking because google maps is showing this as a part of Shiradi ghat |

You'll be cursing yourself if you take the Bisle ghat road. It's that bad. Between I had seen reports in another thread that it's closed now for repairs. You stick to Sullia route. Excellent roads all the way upto Kukke. On the way to Sullia, you'll spot a board with the directions to Kukke (10 km before Sullia). Don't take a right there. Even that route is horrible. You cross Sullia town and take the regular route to Kukke. |

You mean via Pichar, Sonangeri etc? Any idea how long will it take from Bangalore if Mysore road has moderate traffic? |

Yes, it's through Paichar - Sonangeri - Doddathotha - Guttigaru - Subramanya. It should take you around 7 hours by driving moderately. |

You're suggesting drive all the way till Jalsoor and then take Guthigaru to Kukke. There seems to be right turn before we reach Jalsoor as per the maps? |
