May I suggest a new thread for best off-road / 4X4 tracks in India?

I'll start it off with two of the best:

1. Koramangala 80 Ft Road

2. Bannarghatta Road

Both in Bangalore. If you travel to Bangalore from TN/Kerala, you can also go through a wonderful section called "find the real road" between Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri. You get points for every crater you DONT sink into.

hi ALL

mumbai-pune for me.

thanx . . .BOB

the best road i have ever driven on is Greater Noida ExpressWay

The Hubli - Ankola road via Yellapur is one excellent stretch, and if you travel early in the morning it's extremely beautiful too. I would rate this amongst the best.

the ghat section on this road i.e the Nh63 is full of craters which are so bigg that any small car can fit into it.

if its high speed motoring with no oncoming traffic ,then its the the pune -dharwad stertch ..if my zen can do this 330 kms in 4 hours with break fast stop included ..then a bigger car would be more fun.

but for overall fun,its the Nh48 mangalore -bangalore road that rocks.

hey Steer,
Never travelled by MC Road in Kerala? Adoor-Trivandrum stretch. IMO, this would take the cake.

hmmmm 4x4? I almost did that on my Pulsar itself :))
Between Kaza and Gramphoo in Lahaul Spiti is a stretch of about 120 kms connecting NH21/22 - its not a imoprtant defence sector so the PWD 'maintains' it, not the BRO. Add the fact that its toughest terrain in the world to maintain and you might get an idea - rockslides down the mountainsides and broken rock brought down by melting snow and streams form the 'road'
I took a leisurely 2 days to get across this - including crossing Kunzom La and camping beyond that.

Hey Dude...
Did u do the Manali Leh Highway to Ladakh ?
Can some one write a full post on whether it is do-able on a normal car ( an Alto or a Siena )..

I have read a lot about the beautiful scenery on the Manali Leh Highway & the Hindustan Tibet Highway...
is it strict 4*4 territory ( i have heard mobikes doing the same)..any car reports ??

Plan to go to Kanha National Park during the long weekend over the new year..
Any one been recently from Hyd-Nagpur -Kanha Road...?
How is the road conditions ?

Ha, I have a house off the Palm Beach Road in Navi Mumbai.. The signal at the Moraj junction is the only disappointment..

Mehsana - Ahmedabad road is very good after the bridge got constructed over the Narmada river, once while we were travelling there was an accident on the bridge and the traffic was backed up for 11 kilometers.. That would have been purely bad luck on our part..

The Bangalore:Electronic-City - to - Hosur - to - Krishnagiri is the best stretch of road that i've ever seen in India.. Did a 140KMPH on that road in a qualis..

Hi guys,

This is the Ahmedabad - Baroda expressway...
