The Thane Belapur Road - period. Its the best road to test your vehicles suspensions , brakes , balance , handling , FE (bumper to bumper) , Ride Quality et all.

Never seen the occasional wildlife on that route, though people have always scared us with stories...great route, nevertheless.

I remember having my M800 give up after the 28th hair pin bend. Made the mistake of not stopping at Mysore (from Bangalore). This must have heated up the engine. But, by far one of the tough roads to navigate

dawn and dusk are the best times to see wildlife.
They don't like the mid-day heat.

Just back from Goa trip... could not resist writing in this thread about the 100 KM Kolhapur - Belgaum stretch.... it is wonderful. I have not seen many roads like that in India. No traffic for long distances, 100 Kms of mostly straight 4-6 lane road, you can really test your car's top speed here. I did 160 kmph in my NHC before realizing I have my family in the car!!!

Will be writing my travelogue soon!

It’s gotta be the ECR for me… I’m not saying it’s the best road in India, but you also asked which is the road I feel good driving on. I just love the lack of traffic and the way the sea runs along this road. This road offers me a chance to drive at speeds of 150km/hr and above every weekend and what makes this road even better is that girls love going for a drive on this road too... Hehe!

ECR = East Coast Road, the road that connects Chennai - Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry.

Saajan,

if u culd join anywhr on the eastern express highway. It will take u straight to ahmedabad.

Let us know whr u stay, so that we can guide u better.

Roads in general are in good condition other than some patches on the outskirts of thane.

My favourites would be the Mumbai - Pune expressway.... Excellent road.... And down south, The ECR highway from Chennai - Pondicherry. The route is clear and roads are excellent, post Mahabalipuram.... Amazing road to drive on......

Rather than calling them my favourites, they're the only highways I've driven on or being driven on.....
