I doubt if the video is genuine. However if it is, then isn’t the build quality of this car a pure and true testimonial of “kitna deti hai” fiasco.
We midget need to give a holistic evaluation to value of our lives

So, when a car crashes three floors down, you can hope for the best but are prepared for the worst. When a Mercedes G-Class crashed through a road facing glass wall of a parking garage, it went three stories down.....And while one doesn’t expect to walk away from an accident unscathed, considering the magnitude of the crash landing and steep fall, the driver has in fact walked away with a minimum of injuries. Upon incident he was taken to a nearby hospital and is reportedly alert and talking, and in stable condition.
Edit: Accident in India?? this one is in US

To me, this looks like that the G Wagon landed on its face and then just turned turtle, the reason why roof hasn't crumpled. For any car falling 3 floors, the roof won't survive.

Agreed. The roof doesn't seen to have significant damage. And if it didn't crumple even after stopping such a large momentum of the fall, the driver would have been pulverized from the inside.

Re: International Road Accidents

Not an accident post but thought this would be relevant in this thread.

A very good initiative by the Police Officer from Germany. People need to understand that an accident site is not a place to capture videos and photos of the victims. Hope better sense prevails.

Same is applicable for our fellow Indians as well.

Car crashes into a horse. Looks like horse was not badly injured. Even there was no significant damage to the car too. But driver and horse must be definitely shocked.

Looks like the car had no ABS or it was malfunctioning. The car went to a proper skid the moment it began to brake. Didnt the Corolla come with ABS standard?

The horse was in blind spot of the car which would have led to this crash.

Everyone seems to want to avoid obstacles on the road rather than stop and let the obstacles pass. In this case, the obstacle being the horse. It did cross the road at right angles. I suppose the shades that is generally put on horses to make them see straight ahead caused it not to be aware of the vehicles around it.

Re: International Road Accidents

Sometimes it takes an accident to save a life. This accident happened in Phoenix.
A drunk driver in a Jeep jumps a red light just as a set of pedestrians (a couple with a child in a stroller) start crossing the road. The jeep crashes into a Chevy Cruze crossing the junction legally and the impact pushes it away from these pedestrians.

Some of the discussions on the internet on this particular incident call the Chevy driver an angel!
There is also a lot of discussion on:
1. Did the pedestrians have right of way to cross safely? (There appears to be a blinking orange/red light for pedestrians when they start crossing)
2. Should the 2 cars that turned left before the Chevy waited for the pedestrians to cross before completing the turn.
The driver of the Jeep was arrested, but his accomplice escaped.
In the video you can also see the red light cameras flash as the jeep jumps the signal.
There was a child in a car seat in the back seat of the Chevy and he was safe inspite of the crash.

Facebook post from the police with plenty of discussion:

If it is blinking orange, the pedestrians can cross but it and it is basically signalling the pedestrians to cross as fast as possible. They are within their right to cross during blinking orange. In big metro cities in US, there are cops who will catch jaywalkers as well especially in NYC area and Bay Area.

This I noticed only in NYC - I have noticed many pedestrians crossing the roads once its clear. They are not waiting for the pedestrian signal to cross the road. I did not see this in other places where I visited (Stamford, CT/Sunnyvale,Santa Clara, CA, Charlotte, NC, etc). My friend who works in NYC, told usually in here, people cross roads once it is clear instead of waiting for signals.

I do not remember how Chicago was in this context.

Re: International Road Accidents

Dangerous drivers doing idiotic things are a worldwide phenomenon. This guy was overspeeding on the road at 160 kmph and livestreaming his adventure when he crashed in Connecticut.

There was more to it though and it was discovered that he was out on bail and also had a little marijuana on him. He also had a suspended license. He received only minor injuries as he wore his seatbelt.
Surprisingly 160kmph is a speed many indian drivers do on the highway.
