Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

I was approaching a red light. This lady must have thought where ever the bus stops, is a Bus stop. She just jumps out without giving a damn about what's coming near the bus, that too, as soon as the bus comes to a halt.

Yes, the lady is at fault here. But, I think you should have stopped your vehicle behind the bus, right? Or, is that okay to overtake a stationary vehicle from the left hand side at such traffic halts?

Is that an overtake? It is a signal stop.

And yes, it isn't illegal to move forward when there is space at a signal stop.

The lady was an idiot. However as a defensive driver you should have honked and reduced speed since you were anyways going to stop at the red light.

My sister met with an small altercation exactly the same way a year back. She was moving slowly through a free left lane, parellel to a bus stopped in a signal. A woman came out of nowhere in front of car and she braked hard. Fortunately there was no harm to the lady or the car, but it could have gone wrong if the speed was a little higher. Ever since I see stopped buses as one more trap that I need to watch out for. These days I slow down and honk as much as possible when I pass a stopped bus. Doesn't matter whether it is from left or right.

In the below shorts, a truck driver loses control during a rash overtaking. Instant justice for rash driving.

Exceptional reflexes though!

If the driver is so inexperienced as to make that move which results in the loss of control, how did he manage to regain control from such precarious positions?

I don't think he lost control. I have seen many such videos from truckers shooting another truck overtaking them and doing this. It more like a stunt and for posting the video on social media. In this case, he pushed it a bit too much and was lucky it didn't topple.

Good grief! I doubt that he came out that without needing to clean his trousers. I hope not: I hope it wasn't just another nothing-happened moment.

This looks what middleeastern guys would try to do to get the vehicle on two wheels.( basically cars and not trucks )

I agree.
Probably that's why they're already recording too. And appears to be the case from the audio too.

Just truck-edition of wheelies, I suppose.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

Another truck crash captured on video.
I think some issue with the driver's conditon, could be a case of drunken driving, intoxication or health issues.

Those making video are aware of the anamoly for sometime and thought of capturing it. As a first reaction it was like wth they could have alarmed the driver, but then how many would dare to overtake under such circumstances.

PS: why am I getting all such videos on my youtube feed

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

I keep seeing all kinds of idiots every single day, I simply ignore them as they are part and parcel of driving in India.

Meet this idiot on his 4*4 with brightest LED fog lights I have ever seen! he mounted it to his bumper, Just the reflection from my rear-view mirrors almost blinded me. He just tails behind traffic till they get irritated and leave space for him, even had the audacity to have a dash cam, probably to make sure he doesn't gets beatup by any sane human.

I am all in for mods, even twin turbo v12 are okay in my books, but is there any way to report such fools, for whom no amount of compensation is enough?

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

Here's an idiocy I've noticed recently. Only a couple of times, but stupidity has a tendency to become a trend. Make you van look like an auto.

The way to do this is to replace headlights with two lamps much closer to centre of vehicle. On-coming drivers could easily think that that is the width. Bad enough with urban streetlighting.
