Nobody is stopping Global NCAP. If not earlier I am sure they will have a banger of a 10th anniversary celebration of #SaferCarsForIndia at the end of the month.

They've ended that program though. I don't see why they might revive it They instead are helping bncap right now.

Well then their donors will be super mad that they spent their yearly grant buying a bunch of Indian cars and shipping them all the way to Germany only to not test them

Kidding aside, the next release will probably be the last but they are clearly not done yet. Already on the forum there are spied images of some of their post-crash cars at the lab in Germany. These are probably part of the 7 remaining cars of the 10 mentioned in the ET Auto article in the above post.

What happened to Bharat NCAP? Looks like much ado about nothing. I haven't heard of any vehicles being tested after the facelifted Safari / Harrier. Ideally all new products should be tested and the results declared at or before launch. Existing vehicles must also be tested so that customers know before hand what they are getting into.

Why are these consumers buying anything at all if they do not have the requisite information to make their choice?

Maruti Suzuki will announce the safety ratings for its Grand Vitara, Brezza, and Baleno models from the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP) on May 8th.

Maruti Fronx, Hyundai Tucson, Honda Amaze, and Honda City will be the next cars to undergo BNCAP testing.
