The non-specifity might create confusion if people do not read the details. Thanks.

Aha another day another Hyundai/Kia safety thread. Wake up guys they are not gonna give us their international line up. Just buy any other safe cross over on sale.

Hope they carry this forward to India manufactured models. I personally have negatively recommended Creta/Seltos siblings to my friends after seeing the dismal safety ratings. Hope Hyundai / Kia changes that forever and give the Germans tough competition. Its a known fact that their premium products like Tucson etc come with Euro NCAP 5 star, but they just dilly dally for India spec cars.

I would prefer it as follows:

1. Safe driving first. For example, it doesn't make a lot of sense to drive at 110kmph on a road marked with an 80kph speed limit. Fully focusing on the road and not blasting the music.

2. Safety precautions: wearing seat belts etc.

Then only I prioritize the car's safety rating, in that order.

This double standard shown by the Korean OEMs for India is one of the many reasons why I am silently boycotting this brand. I am proud of the fact that none of the people in my circle drive these pathetic vehicles. And I shall continue to discourage people around me from these vehicles till the time they don't get rid of this attitude towards Indians.

In fact the thread was the opposite. It highlighted how the Indian models had most of the ultra high strength steel removed ! Thread link - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...dai-creta.html

The GNCAP India results proved the same.

Nah there was another thread with a lot of analysis and assumptions. Can't remember whether it was for Hyundai or Kia (both cars are essentially the same anyways)

The India NCAP was supposed to be implemented at least 5 years ago. Had they implemented as planned many lives would have been saved. It doesn't look like the govt will implement it anytime soon.
