Not sure whether the driver was intoxicated,or whether the car was too powerful to be controlled.Either way, it caused havoc.
An out-of-control Tesla Model Y sped through the streets of a Chinese province, killing two people and injuring three before crashing into a building earlier this month. The accident occurred on Nov. 5 in the city of Chaozhou, which lies along the Chinese coast just northeast of Hong Kong. The terrifying footage shows a white Tesla Model Y suddenly accelerating after the driver appeared to try to park the car, then speeding at harrowing speeds through busy streets. The driver's family told local media that the 55-year-old man lost control of the car and would not respond when he pressed the brake pedal. Tesla said it is investigating the accident. The driver appears to try to avoid motorcyclists on the street while it continues to accelerate. As the Tesla builds speed, though, it clips a cyclist and runs into other vehicles, and finally crashes violently into a building.

Reports from Jimu News suggest that Chaozhou city police have not yet identified a cause for the incident. An unnamed family member of the 55-year-old driver, though, is quoted as saying that there was an issue with the brake pedal.

Tesla brake pedal issues have been a hot topic in China. One angry customer climbed atop a vehicle at the Shanghai auto show last year to protest how the company handled her complaints about malfunctioning brakes and their involvement in a car accident.

Tesla said that it will help Chinese police in their investigation of a severe crash involving a Model Y crossover.
