An expert panel probe into the recent spate of EV 2 wheeler fires, has concluded that certain 'cost cutting' on part of the manufacturers may have been responsible for the incidents. Critical components like the venting mechanism and battery management system were subjected to cost cutting, resulting in the fires.

Meanwhile, questions still remain as to how the faulty vehicles received ARAI certification.

Re: Electric 2-wheeler fires due to 'cost cutting' by manufacturers

Quoting from the article - The panel is said to have pointed out that several of the electric two-wheelers came with only 'minimum functionality' and 'shortcuts' were taken instead of prioritising vehicle safety

Seems most of these companies have mindlessly borrowed the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) concept from software industry. To the extent that their products are a threat to the users. The government should come in heavy and make an example out of them.
