But the enthusiasts or car lovers don't buy cars because of lack of public transport, they buy cars because they love the machines and love to drive. We live in zone 3 and in the last 4 years we have taken public transport to zone 1 only 4 or 5 times. I love to drive my car there in-spite of the congestion charge, ULEZ charge, high parking rates etc. Anyways this is digressing from the topic.

Fully agree. I chose my words after careful selection, I was referring to the need, not the want part. Vehicle as a mean of transport is unnecessary in this city but as a tool of pleasure is a universal need.

I used to work for a company based out of London, Holborn. The CFO of the company doesn't own a car!

There was already a congestion charge of 15GBP and Ulta low emission zone charge of 12.5 to improve air quality.
