Government preparing plans to roll out BS-VII, CAFE-III emission norms

In its bid to reduce air pollution caused by vehicles, govt is working on plans for roll out the stringent BS-VII and CAFE-III (Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency emission norms.

The European Commission has proposed to implement the Euro-7 standards for cars from July 2025 and for buses and lorries from 2027. India also needs to catch up with this for two reasons — to check emission and also for export of Make in India vehicles to European countries.
