Accident involving four (or more?) vehicles near KeSRTC bustand, Kollam on 26th Nov.

I have driven through that junction in Kollam numerous times and the way the 4 roads merge at the junction makes it a mess (not a proper 4-road junction formed when 2 roads cut perpendicularly).

I wish they start work on the Kollam byepass so that people have an option of avoiding the traffic in Kollam city. The byepass when complete would be awesome/scenic if built as per plan, since it will have a long stretch of road running over the Ashtamudi backwaters.

Saw this at 8:30ish today morning. Looks like accident occurred in early hours of morning. My assessment - Driver dozed off. No ther vehicle was involved. Looks like the Safari over turned only after hitting the grass. No marks on the road or shoulder seen. Track marks on the grass were viible though.

Reason for the crowd to gather is partially because of me :(. I had to catch a bus and crossed the road and found this Safari. Curiously I tried to figure the cause and then went close to it. One by one people started gathering thinking its a fresh accident. Many stopped their vehicles and rushed to the scene. Explained to few that it hasnt happened now. Then, it was too late and a big crowd gathered. I slowly stepped out and took some pics. Safari was pretty badly damaged for what appeared to be a simple accident.

This looks like the same place where the ertiga accident took place a few pages back.

The Ertiga accident was on Karur-Dindigul highway. This looks more like in the outskirts of the city (Bangalore ?)

Oops! Just noticed I had not mentioned the place of accident. This happened on Mysore road. It was right opposite to Concorde service center and myTvs service centers

Saw an accident on the ORR near the Central mall (Bellandur) at 9:45AM today involving a red Maruti Wagon R and a biker I guess.. The biker was stuck under (!!) the Wagon R and people lifted the car to pull him out. I saw this while passing on the other side of the road and there was already enough crowd.

Did anybody see this and have more details on this accident? I could not understand how a person can come under a car like Wagon R!! I hope the biker was not injured too badly.

This morning, I saw a Test Drive Etios smashed to bits in front of Veterinary College on the way to Hebbal Flyover. The car was in bad shape...any news on this??

May be the test drive car was from Viva Toyota. Their test drive cars were more often than not was in the service center to fix accident repairs.

Now is it the customers test driving it meet with accidents or the SEs take it for a jolly ride and end up in an accident.

Happened few months before near SFS at bypass,Trivandrum

High speed crash near Mysore Road - NICE Road junction. Hond City splits in to two, 3 killed on the spot. Looks like tyre burst and over speeding was the cause for this accident.

THe car looks like a crushed tin can :Shockked:. Looking at the boot lid it looks like a type 1 Honda City. Old car with old damaged tyres leading to tyre burst?

Very scary accident actually. No matter how safely one drives and how careful one is about the condition of one's own tyres there is no way one can be insulated when other cars driving in the vicinity suffer a tyre burst like this.

Looks like the car spun out of control. THe right rear and front left is damaged. Aquaplaning probably or tyre burst. But look at the front alloy wheel , it has got cut and the hub is still in place. Shouldn't they be strong enough to withstand a spin like that?

Came across a bus and Sunny accident just today morning. From the damage no one seems to be hurt - just a case of fast driving and who crosses the road first!

Car actually broke in to 2 pieces! Car was reportedly driven at over 120 kmph, hit the divider after possible tyre burst and was thrown on to the other side where it was ht by a truck.

The Hindu article says "Preliminary investigations revealed that Sachin was speeding, all the five are suspected to have consumed alcohol."

So it could also be a case of drunken driving + over speeding = driver losing control.
