ABS is no "sanjeeveni booti" to bring you out of any kind of dangerous maneuvours on the road. But it does help to a certain extent.

I think its evident from the post that the esteem was doing "high" speeds. I am sure we all know that higher the speed more the damage on impact (explains the lesser damage on the wagonR?). So being so judgmental (esteem looks worse than wagonR and hence not safe) without keeping in mind the facts is not right. Why does everything/anything said about a car become a personal issue rather than being accepted on its face value?

Multiply the words in bold by atleast 10 times. Thats how much the ABS helps, most people never understand/reach the extent because they are hardly ever in the need to appreciate it should the need arise. Ask some of those really quick highway drivers in Verna's, Elantra's, SX4's and they will all swear by it. And believe them when they say the difference is like between chalk and cheese.

Kudos to Maruti Suzuki. I have always hated this model of the Grand Vitara due to it's looks, but the build quality seems to be commendable.
I think the pillar are intact because the entire hood is resting on the divider. What kind of highspeed stunt this guy was pulling in a city road?
I think we can see blood in the second picture, hope no one was seriously injured. Might have tried some stunts in the middle.
Is it in chennai nandanam Signal?
there are blood stains inside the cabin. seems the occupants were injured.

I think it was a low speed stunt otherwise there would be much more sheet metal damage from the rollover. My guess is he caught that black and yellow curb, rode his right front wheel up over it and turned over at maybe less than 15kph.
For you newbies, if this happens to you, get out and casually check your silencer, suspension, grease points and skid plates. If anybody says anything to you just smile and say, "Routine maintenance."
