DocG and spitfire both have done wonderful things in putting service before self, and it is this spirit that inspires others to become better human beings. Deep respect, and spitfire, don't lose heart. Your help will make a world of a difference to the next person you encounter who's been in an accident.

An incident that shocked all of us cold.
This happened near the Guindy/Saidapet junction.
A friend of mine and another guy were on a bike. the rider of the bike (the guy i didn't know) was wearing a helmet. A sand lorry doing really high speeds tried overtaking from the left. Not being aware of this, the rider turned left to turn at the junction. The handlebar clipped the truck, and the they lost control. The truck ran over the torso of the rider, and the truck came to a rest with one pair of the real wheels still on his body!
My friend was also under the truck, but only with a head injury. He crawled out from under the truck, and saw that a huge crowd had gathered around, No one bothering to help. He had no idea whether he was alive or not. He sat down to steady himself, as he had lost a lot of blood. Still no help! He finally got up and begged a few people to push the truck so that they could extract the body . While they were pushing the truck, an apathetic cop walked upto them and told them to forget about it, and that he was dead. On pushing the truck however, they found that he was still alive, gurgling. They flagged an auto down, and rushed him to the hospital. They put him into the I.C.U. But still, he passed away a few hours later.

Public apathy is so strong in this country, it's disgraceful.

I don't think everything can be blamed on public apathy alone. Even if a good samaritan helps he is made to go through hell by the cops. They think that he/she has something to gain by helping the injured person. I have myself gone through this a couple of times. They think that everybody is a cheat like them. Now if something like this happens I just make sure that the injured reaches the hospital and get out of there after explaining everything to the nurses or duty doctors. I just don't want to get into the cops hassle.

Well. THis is one accident that killed two. Almost everything till the B Pillar is missing.

Holy Moly which car is that cant even identify??? RIP to the lost souls

I think that's an Innova.

That's a very bad crash. The car does look like it used to be an Innova or a Ford Endeavor.

RIP

This look's like the end of over speeding. Looks too bad in shape. Feel sorry for the guy inside the car.

I wouldn't agree with you gaurav.

Have seen many accords ( current gen ) with bumpers et all just like the older ones.
Its still the old pedestrian safe , body unsafe.
But its just that the airbags helped :)

I met with an accident on Chennai-Bangalore GQ Highway few weeks back.

We (I, my wife & my son) all came out un-scratch. The car took all the hit. was doing 90km/h that time and a motorbike suddenly came in the middle for no-where!
