Mangalore: Car Badly Damaged in Collision with Truck

There seems to be no word on the occupants of either the car or the truck. Am I missing something?

Mangalore, May 9:
A long haul truck loaded with a few automobiles and a car collided at Pavanje, near Haleangady, on Tuesday May 8.

The truck went off the road and rolled over after hitting the car that was fully damaged in the mishap.

No loss of life has been reported.

Mulky police registered a case in this regard.

it appears that the truck was Stationary and the car rammed into it!

There was a problem with the link. It's working alright now.

Quite a bad shunt this. Good to know that the occupants are safe. I can only assume that the seat-belts saved their lives.

Damn.... That is a new model DZire:Shockked: hence quite a new vehicle.
Happy to know that there was no loss of life.

The remains of a Chevy Cruze, this is what happens when your father has a lot of money, no respect for your as well as others lives and you drive like a maniac, the owner is a class mate of mine but i wont disclose any more details, of what am told this was a high speed shunt, the guy escaped unhurt all thanks to the Cruze's build quality.

It looks like he was either trying to turn to his left at high speed or braked late and swerved to the left.
There is quite a bit of sand in the background so could have skidded off it.

so Mr. Sunil Haleangady (the reporter?); which one is it?
did the truck hit the car or was it the other way around? contradictory statements in the report; I am confused.

Guess all crash tests are meaningless with these kind of nightmarish crashes :Shockked:

a coincidence that the me and the reporter share the same first name:OT

as per my friends who live around there

1. the truck was stationary
2. the car is a week - 15 days old
3. driven by the owner of an optical store
4. escaped with a few bruises and nothing else

I saw one of the most horrible views on 8th May around 5:30 a.m., near South ex bus stop in Delhi.

This accident happened the previous night which included atleast 2 trucks and a car. A trailer truck had another truck(supposedly mini) under it and a car too, which was not clearly visible. To the horror, all the vehicles had caught fire. By the time I saw it, there only a little fire still on, in the trailer truck.

I was already late for my flight and there were a lot of people gathered, hence could not click any pics.

Anyone from Delhi noticed it ?

Almost got featured in this thread yesterday because some morons in a 709 truck thought it was a good idea to carry bamboos/ wooden poles & ladders in the usual horizontal pile up way with a red rag fluttering away at the end of one of them.

Why are such loads allowed on the streets? Apparently not enough deterrence for them. Their commercial licenses should be suspended or taken away for carrying such dangerous stuff.

Oh there was a fire also? I saw it at around 6 AM and it was truly horrible. The car was a hatchback, thats all that i could make out. There were still people gathered around it.

Look at pics at post # 11094. I don't think anyone might have survived that Dzire crash. Media report things wrongly sometimes. The car is one third of its length and they say occupants survived? Top is ripped off and cabin is crushed. Wrong reporting I presume.

@coolboy007, saw similar fotos on a friends mobile, did this happen on the g.noida e-way by any chance.

Regarding the dezire accident, the guy survived n that too with minor bruises, I have serious doubt, but if he did, .....damn lucky

Dzire looks totally smashed . But how can hitting a truck can make it topple. I see that truck has toppled! The car was over speeding so much?? :Shockked:

Surprising part is "owner escaped with few bruises and nothing else". He is really lucky i must say if i go by the looks of the car.

PS: yeah car should be very new, since my March end registration vehicle was KA-19-MC-37XX series. This car should be like pretty new since it is KA-19-MC-4xxx series.
