when empty, this the most fun road to drive on.
Just be sober, and legally qualified to drive .unlike a lot of louts i have seen on this road.
Also, be very very wary of the radar gun equipped cops on the mall side of the road.

i guess the other side of road is more fun to drive. its straight and really attain good speed too.

That's because those who honk, do so because they don't want to slow down, and assume that the others will give them way after hearing their honks. |
Very well said. I think there is a direct relationship between the attitude to honk their way (rather then slowing down and drive defensively) and the accidents (because they occasionally running put of luck).

Actually, its the other way round. The country with maximum number of accidents use max horns. Fair enough, eh?.
Well the most scary thing is that it has not been even 6 months since the above mentioned buses have been introduced and now this happens. Who can be held responsible for this? I was present at the place when this happened at it was really scary. I pray for the souls of the two persons who were killed for no fault of theirs.
last night, after exiting barapullah nalla road, where the road splits for left towards pragti maidan.
Anybody have any news of the accident?
passed by and saw major damage to an indica, a santro and an esteem, all scrunched into aball from behind by a small truck.
real bad!!

Well all I can say is with the number of gas cylinders on the road is that its lucky to be only eight people. I guess this also explains the traffic on the road last night.
I live on this stretch of road and agree that it needs a lot of work, considering the connectivity between Badshapur, Sohna, Faridabad, Golf Course Extension road and NH8.

Prepare to be shocked, baffled and completely unnerved. Spotted on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Speedometer stuck at 130 kph could mean that accident was at 150 - 160 (if not over). We can presume he shed some speed before the jolt caused the speedometer to end up stuck. |
wow! what did it ram against to get twisted like that? was there another vehicle around that caused this?
btw, is the Mumbai-Pune expressway that dangerous to drive on? i ask coz i'll be coming to that part of the country in May, but don't want to end up in this thread :D
Really bad accident. Did it smash on to some vehicle/tree or just toppled.

@GTO - When did you see this? I had seen this damaged car on 19th March on my way to Pune. Is this still lying there?? There were no other vehicles around it nor any crowd. So i assume that quite some time had passed.

@IronH4WK - Not dangerous if you follow rules and maintain speeds. You don't have to worry at all considering that you are a major contributor to the How to Spot Bad Driver's thread :D By the way when are you reaching pune?
No airbags, and if the occupants were not wearing seatbelts, the chances of fatalities is pretty high I fear.
That Dzire,is in a real bad shape,i pray that there were no fatalities.
i dont know why but i am feeling really strange\bad,looking at the speedo pic, needle stuck at 130,RPM at 3K+ fuel gauge full and temp normal,it looks like the car is moving, but see what a state it is in.
Recently a guy lost his life in chandigarh,in a swift, and speedo needle was found stuck at 150please:
By doing 150 kmph and say 100 kmph the person may not save more than 30 minutes in the Mumbai Pune Expressway.
This is the time between life and death. Is it necessary to go in those insane speeds in vehicles that are not made for those speeds.
Only the respective persons can answer.
