What it means is that if anyone in kerala helps an accident victim reach the hospital, they would get Rs. 200. The government earmarked Rs. 11 lakh for a fund to disburse the amount.

I don't understand the idea, and knowing my own kerala, this would be another opportunity for head load workers union to claim that they have all the right to lift the victims from road and claim money :OT

Sir, as I mentioned, that part of the road was closed!:D He hit the divider and somehow parked it on the closed side of the road later.

And why not - hit someone and then take them to hospital as accident case, take 200 rs and stand in that queue in front of the liquor shop?

IMO, this is not a good move. God forbid, what if people cause the accidents to cash on that 200/-??

I guess our cops have to proactively man the highways and not just the city limits. The best idea would be for someone (perhaps a cop, for better effect) to stand at toll booths and not let the cars go through until and unless the occupants wear seat-belts.

This is a crashed dzire ZDI with airbags and ABS. Spotted this outside a MSIL bodyshop. Can anyone tell how did the accident occur and why didn't the airbags deploy? To me it looks like a cae of t-bone plus toppling.

I believe it has gone under a truck on its left side and hence that side is completely scrapped and the left A pillar has buckled. There is no impact on the engine or on the right side.
If I am not wrong, there are airbag sensors which trigger the airbags and looks like in this case, they were not triggered as the engine compartment was not compromised.

front airbags are not designed to protect in case of such impact.
In fact, deployment in this case could have caused more harm.

Curtain airbags would have had a different tale to tell.

Airbags are deployed only when there is a direct impact with a certain momentum on the "sensors" on the front of the car, i.e. on the bumper. As the car was T-boned, there was probably not much of an impact on the "sensors", so airbags did not (need to be) deploy(ed). I have a pictorial explanation of this in my i10's user manual. Will try posting it later. Hope this helped.

Knowing the mentality of our public, they will wear it until they cross the toll booth and them get rid of it!! It should dawn upon the general driving public that seat belts are designed to save lives/minimize injuries.

A friend of mine spotted a Crashed and mangled white verna with TEAM-BHP STICKERS on kanakapura road, Anybody aware of the accident?

Tractor is clearly overloaded.

Nobody was hurt, even the idiotic driver.

It was good that this road was empty at the time of the accident.

The airbag deployment sensor for the Swift DZire ZDi and Swift ZXi are located just below the right headlamp unit, where the red arrow points. If there is no direct impact on this area, the airbags won't deploy.

That tractor may have been fine with the weight, which doesn't look to be that much. Problem is that the weight shifted.
