Today's Tamil Murasu reported that 4 youths were killed on the spot when the car they were travelling in rammed against the rear of a truck when the truck driver applied brakes at Avadanapatti, near Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, on NH 7 last mid-night. Miraculously, the driver escaped with minor injuries. The youths were returning from Bangalore to Thrissur, Kerala.

In another accident near Karaikkal, Pondicherry, three people, who went on a pilgrimage, were killed when their yellow-boarded taxi dashed against the road-side tree.

Which car is it? Looks like an SUV (a side step is seen). Driver was wearing seat belts?

In the Karaikkal accident, the final death toll was five, it seems.

In yet another accident, four persons, who were returning on a moped from a pilgrimage of Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, were killed when a government bus collided with it, taking the toll to nine. The heading of Tamil Murasu [the second photograph] says 'NINE DEVOTEES KILLED IN KARAIKKAL & THIRUVANNAMALAI ACCIDENTS'.

Yes. You are right. The news report says it was a luxury vehicle.

No information about the driver wearing seat belt or not.

^^ The Krishnagiri crash, the wheel caps looks like its from the Verna!

Unfortunate accident! RIP.

Looks like an Innova.

Drifter

Yeah the footboard gives an impression that it was indeed an MUV/SUV.

the black car is a innova. the bumper, wheel caps & seats says so.

:OT
Snakes are very common in Navi Mumbai. Most of these are brown coloured snakes which are like 5 to 7 feet. They had the mangroves as their sanctuary. Now mangroves are being cut at an ever increasing rate to accommodate the new creatures i.e. homosapiens so more and more snakes can be found on the pavement that runs along the Palm beach road. Their is a drain which also runs along this road and attracts a lot of rats and frogs which draw the snakes towards the drain. Now in the absence of clearly marked pedestrian crossings the snakes take a chance at Russian Roulette while crossing some make it while a few that try in day time usually do not.

I have seen a few vehicles being bumped when they brake on seeing the slithery creatures but this pile up is a first.

This scary accident happened in North chennai.
Per police - driver could be DUI and hit couple of pedestrians and to avoid any beating from crowd, he started driving like crazy. In this process he hit many inlcuding pedestrians, two-wheeles, autos, cars and mini van.

Finally stopped at one place and fled the scene.

Result: one dead; 20 injured and lot of vehicles damaged.

I wanna crush this guy using the same LORRY:OT
