Horrible images. The Activa is badly rammed. The SX4 seems to have rear ended the bus or something. The link you provided does not have the original picture.

Only the last image is from the local paper. The rest of the pictures are clicked by my colleague.

We often hear or read the words "lost control". The newspapers use it as if it is the absolute and complete explanation, whereas it actually does not even begin to tell what happened.

Anyway, it was not the vehicle that lost control --- but the driver. Forgive my pedantry, but it seems to me to be a vital point. The words we use go hand in hand with how we think.

Sorry, typo error. The driver of the Bus in the first image lost control.

This is my grandfather's car!! the report we got was that the driver accidently floored the accelerator pedal instead of the brakes to avoid an oncoming vehicle and the car went off the road (wet due to rains) hit the mud wall and flipped from the front. Luckily no one was hurt , everyone got out without a scratch. And thanks to God and Seatbelts. ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEATBELT WHILE DRIVING.

 Nothing personal!

Actually your post reminded me of how often I see this used in the newspapers.

EP... that's dreadful, but so glad the people were not hurt.

Latest update to Residency Road Accident : An eyewitness saw the Bus Driver talking on mobile while driving. The Bus Driver claims that it was a technical snag which led to Accident.

Transport Minister Ashok was present just 2 kms away as BMTC is observing Traffic Enforcement Week telling Bus Drivers to drive safely.

@EP: Hopeful after seeing the photo everyone will start wearing seat belt. Wishful thinking. Good to hear that nobody was hurt. The car front portion had taken quite a lot of impact.

is the irony of this lost on all but me??

BMTC drivers talking on cellphone while driving is quite a common sight. Spitfire, you have some busy times ahead then.

I wonder what speeds the bus driver was doing to cause this much damage and 'loose control'!
