Noticed a couple of cars in bad shape on my way back from ooty (to bangalore).

The innova was brought to a stop on the bandipur stretch probably after ramming into another vehicle head on while trying to overtake i guess...

Looks more like the Innova hit a pole or a tree than another vehicle. Notice the cylindrical compression around the headlamps.

This SLK was laying covered when I went to Mercedes' Calicut Service center when I took my car for service. It's a minor accident, thank GOD!

Yes, This is the same car which was listed here (around 5-6 pages back) and yes this is the car where foreigners died.

I mean its so hard to figure out.

^^Its a Santro in the mangled mass.

I wonder why that wreck is lying on the roadside for this long? This is the third time this one gets posted me thinks.

Correct! actually the only way i could tell that its a santro was by looking at the steering wheel ( i actually walked around it and checked), which "resembled" to the one fitted on the santro.

According to the Locals, two people were killed (who BTW were drunk), and the car had rolled down from god knows where over and over. not sure if they were foreigners or just Indian tourists.

Maybe this is a repeat. But there's no harm in repeating things like this.

I'll tell you why. Because they didn't plonk that engine into too many Getz (else you'd have seen more Getz in worse condition than you see Vernas rl: ). 110 bhp on tap, 24 kg-m of torque, responds like rocket-powered roller skates, and with an idiot behind the wheel. I'm sure there are more Vernas being crashed around the country than any other similar-priced sedan.

More than the idiot behind the wheel I guess its the car's dynamics that are to be blamed. I have driven Vernas straight out of showroom that pulled towards left at moderate to high speeds. Also, the ABS felt poorly caliberated with it cutting in too early and reducing the stopping power.
I guess the Handling of this car needs to be sorted out urgently.

I am gonna share it with friends. Hope people appreciate the message behind it.

Sometimes I feel we as t-bhpians are not doing enough to further safe driving. Please, I request everyone to spread awareness and at the risk of being labeled as sissies, still continue to propound safe driving.

I know it is very OT, but I really needed to express this.

A night-out last night showed us how people speed at 3 am. At 5 in the morning, I saw a bike collide with a bus.

Please please drive safe.
