What the cops said is utter crap and the 100 kmph thing you have mentioned is untrue. I know the owner of this vehicle and is a very close family friends of ours.

I spoke to him today to find out what exactly had happened , it seems a dog darted across the road and he tried avoiding the dog, thats when he lost control of the car.

As per him he was doing about 60kmph and lost control when he slammed the brakes and the wheels locked up.The car hit the median , rammed into a tree sideways before coming to a halt.

Unluckily my friends dad lost his life in the accident on Thursday. No visible injuries to both the occupants , but looks like his dad had an attack post the accident.

I know him very well and is a very sedate driver. The car was just a few days old.

I fail to understand what amazes you when lives are lost ?
In such a situation - one should hit the dog - but alas it is very easy to say but hard to do due to human instinct and CUPA will be on my head

ABS would have been the answer - Makes the extra Rs 50000 look like a bargain - one car and one life saved. Shame that auto companies do not fit this as standard,

I always try to do the same @ high speed for which i've always been cursed by my friends but i still think its a safer option..

The Aveo looked like the top end version with ABS.. Sorry if my assumption is wrong.

@rjstyles69 , I was not sure about how it happened. I just posted what I heard from the cope who was standing there.

Very sad to hear the complete facts.

People out there ..... please dont risk your life for a dog or cat !!! your life is definitely valuable than those lives......

Drive safe..

Whitefield Honda Body shop - given my car in for the bumper to redone

The number of new cars requiring touch up is amazing - 3 civics and 8 city's un reg.

Plenty of NHC,s with front ends gone.
