WOW first time I am seeing speed breakers on roundabout lol:. The round about itself is there to reduce the speed and provide a safe passage

This bridge was opened about 3 months ago. These rumbles were not installed in the beginning and there were accidents galore - Everyday, main reason being people didn't know the RIGHT OF WAY at roundabouts. Everyone wanted to go and speeded before the other and ended up banging each other. They approach the roundabout very fast, only to see vehicles coming from the right side at the last moment.
Solution: Install speed limiters - smaller half-round merallic rumbles at the locations shown in my picture.
Result: Accidents almost eliminated at the entry-exit of the roundabouts. People necessarily slow down, allowing them time to see vehicles coming from their right.
IMO, this is the best solution, for us, with the prevailing level of Road-sense.

more over i would notice some dents in the roof

FYI, heavy vehicles are not allowed on this bridge.

Some random pics of accidents.

This Esteem went under the mid-section of the water tanker as the tanker started to take a sudden U-turn on Delhi roads, cutting across the Esteem's nose. The pipe pf the tanker hit the windscreen of the Esteem. A higher speed may well have proved fatal for the Esteem's occupants.

This Ghaziabad-registered car was being towed on the EM Bypass in Kolkata.

And this sugarcane-laden truck found the load was too much for it, and passed out on the NH58 (my favourite accident-spotting road! :) ).

The entire roundabout is elevated and approaches and exits are sloping.
All those Red marks you see are speed limiters, metallic rumbles, and noway to speed over those.

The first time I took that flyover, I wasn't aware of the speed breakers.
I was doing around 65-70 driving from annanagar towards Korattur, I did not even feel that I ran over those speed breakers at that speed..

This curve is bit dangerous, the vehicle can lose control & accident vehicle could have under steered. This could be the reason & also at the same time rear ended.

Personally I feel they messed up the flyover, they should have split those into two seperate flyovers..

My friend expired last year when his bike was hit from behind by a Scorpio. The driver was not drunk. He just lost control apparently.

The thing with these big high powered cars is that people take them from granted. There are so many people who do not know how to use these machines responsibly. Its really a shame.

In Hyd, yest a friend's close relative met with a solid accident - got rear ended in his car at ~11am by a truck, when he pulled over with double blinkers. Anyone got any info?

Saw a video on a news channel of an overspeeding Swift hitting the road dividers on Worli sea link and finally coming to a halt after ramming head-on with another car coming from opposite direction. Unfortunately another speedster couldn't stop in time and rammed into the already mangled mess of metal.. sheer madness to rip on this road (or for that matter, on any one)!

Seen in RK Puram in Delhi this morning - the result of speeding in dense fog at night. The Indica went under a truck and knocked out its rear axle. Speaks a lot about the tough bodyshell of the Indica. Not sure how the Indica acquired the dent in the rear though.

Wow that Indica really took the impact well. The passenger compartement is just fine.

wow look at the truck. looks like a tank hit it,the indica took the hit really well also looks like some other vehicle has rear ended the indica

Kudos to TATA for solid build quality. From what i see, there is no cabin intrusion!

The Indica has taken the impact really well....

Looking at the truck, it seems to have borne the brunt of the collision.

Really tough body shell....

Has anyone got pics of the multiple accidents in Sushant Lok past week. Fog + a brand new unmarked divider in the middle of the road:
one upturned truck, two beached Silver Lancers!!

Saw a Zen rear ended by Tavera ( cab ) on NH8 yesterday morning because of fog. Did anyone spot it too?
