It depends. It always depended. If they were doing speed checks, then in a 30MPH limit, even 33 might get a ticket: I speak from experience!.
However, these days, it's not cops, it's
cameras. Cameras have no discretion.
(Experience based on UK driving)
While it is devastating for the loved ones of the young souls who lost their lives in the tragic Innova Hycross accident, the biggest takeaway is this - no matter what brand of car you're driving or seated in, and no matter its GNCAP crash rating, nothing can save you if the car is driven recklessly, or, for that matter, if a maniac driving a poorly rated GNCAP car crashes into you at insane speeds - even if you're driving your 'safe car' sensibly or parked somewhere safely.
Not sure if it's right thread to post but this policeman should be appreciated for what he is talking here.
Ironically in our country rarely any policeman knows or cares about laws and proper rules, forget about common people:

I was going to my hometown today and crossed an accident spot at Yelwala near Mysuru (on the Mysuru to Madikeri highway). The accident had happened just 5 to 10 minutes earlier.
A bus overloaded with people heading to a marriage function lost control due to brake failure. On a downhill road, the driver could not control the bus. He went straight across the busy highway, jumped over the divider and stopped after jumping over a large drainage canal on the other side of the road. I heard that the driver fled the accident spot and a few people in the bus were seriously injured. It looks like a college bus rented for a marriage function.
Fortunately, no other vehicles or people on the busy road were impacted.
How unsafe our roads are. An overloaded bus losing control, crossing a busy highway, jumping the divider, and stopping on the other side of the road. It could be an unfortunate and one off case but we should be very alert and careful while driving.
This one makes my blood boil. How can one be so inhuman that they intentionally block Ambulance. Kudos to Kerala police for fining this sorry human 2.5L and looks like his license too is revoked. Thank God it did not result in an accident. Such vile people should not be allowed to be on road.
