I hate the term "freak accident", and often said that the only freak accident is something falling out of the sky. OK... so, from the tractor driver's point of view, this was surely a freak accident. :Shockked:

From the flying trucker's point of view, there must have been an actual cause.

Very best wishes to the tractor driver: I hope they get him out relatively uninjured, poor guy.

For the Creta driver, new trousers and deep cleaning the car seat. I'd be shaking for a month.

Such a miracle that the tractor driver is alive, considering he only had a tarp above his head!

From what little is visible above, I think it's likely that the driver was just fatigued: Other vehicles are moving normally. Even if the lorry was fishtailing because of some incident happened before, other vehicles above would've slowed down or moved accordingly.

I'd be looking above more than in front under flyovers forever.

It really looks like he just drove off the edge. But we can see only the end of his story. More information may come.

Last night (30th Aug), I reached ITI gate, KR Puram, Bangalore around 10pm to catch a bus to Chennai.
Saw that there was a horrific accident right at ITI gate, Old Madras road. Traffic was piled up for 2-3 kms on Old Madras road and on Hanging bridge, all the way to Byappanahalli police station.
A BMTC bus and RE bullet bike was involved. Radiator of the bus was busted. A JCB was lifting the bus to help extract the bike stuck underneath it. Traffic police and some volunteers were managing the traffic thanklessly.
I don't know what happened to the biker/pillion. Could have been fatal. I really hope not.

Cannot find any report online. Has any Bangalorean seen anything in newspapers? If so, can you please let me know if the biker/pillion survived. Thank you.

On the trailer and tractor accident, It really baffles me how this could have happened.

For one, It seems a flyover with service roads. Tractor is moving on the service road. Trailer which was actually running on the other side of highway, broke the median, crossed oncoming traffic again broke the side wall and fell.

Second, trailer is without load. How could a trailer do all the shenanigans without load?

Three, all these in an upward side of flyover, where naturally just lifting foot from accelerator would have stopped the vehicle.

A really freak accident where multiple causes converged in to one.

Hope and prayers for the tractor and trailer drivers.

Not perhaps an accident but my wife was harassed by local goon who was barely in his senses and thanks to the tireless shouting and yelling my wife was so flustered that she forgot there was a dash cam installed and there was nothing that she could have done in this situation!

The dog was unscathed and the wife of the goon re-validated that the dog was not hit and was unhurt even though the my wife was at no fault she was harassed for a long time!

She was in tears and was ready to pay for all the treatment if there was something that went wrong to the poor dog who has such careless owners!

I agree with what you said about there not being freak accidents generally - but this footage seems like it's straight out of a Final Destination movie. I guess a few years ago, a car (Polo? City?) had gone off a flyover and fell on a pedestrian walking below. Somehow, strangely, it just reinforces my belief that death can come knocking from anywhere. Take your precautions, but always be ready to depart.

Woman faking accident - Value of Dashcam

In a bizarre incident, a woman was caught on the dashcam of a car faking an accident by falling in front of the moving car on one of the city roads of Bengaluru. The video shows how, after spotting her, the driver slowed down, but she fell onto the car and thereafter tried to attack the driver.

It's the dash cam proof that, sometimes becomes crucial.

It is very important for pedestrians to walk on the right side of the road so that they can see the incoming traffic. Not that this accident could have been prevented or it is his mistake, but knowing that a car is being driven rashly might have given him a better chance to save himself.

Not sure if this guy is or will ever be punished. The guy deserves a punishment atleast for attempted manslaughter considering his attitude. He's a liability to the society. The way he says " are you of the achche insaan type"? When the lady expresses concern over the fallen bikers alone should be the incriminating factor.

Unfortunate and sad incident which could have been avoided by following basic acclimatisation precautions. Mods may put in other thread if, there is any on road safety. (I couldn’t find)
Long drives need comprehensive risk assessment on all issues.

Multiple things are wrong in this short 20 sec video.

High beam lights of vehicles - Blinds incoming traffic.
Unscientific so called 'rumblers' - People will swerve to avoid being rattled out.
Not following the principles taught as basic road usage in schools - Walk on the right side, facing the traffic.
Being callous while driving - Not slowing down enough when visibility is limited.

Although the motorist is primary one to be held responsible, the injured pedestrian would have avoided self harm, if he had been more careful and not be that close to the road, especially during dark hours.

While on road, be on the defensive and don't expect some random stranger to take care of our safety.

My view:

As a pedestrian, we become the weakest in the food chain of the road. Just like a deer needs to be consciously aware at all times of predators around, we need to be similarly aware whilst on the road.

Simple logic being, we stand to suffer the most. :sadface

Please walk on the right side of the road so that you can see oncoming traffic.

The white solid line on the shoulder is not a magic line that prevents drivers from crossing over.

As far as possible walk on the extreme side of the road if footpaths are not available.

Anything else to be added for pedestrian safety. Can't help how others drive on road :(
