Wonder if the reaction (sensationalizing the incident which happens regularly on all our roads) would have been the same if the driver was driving an ordinary car or a minivan.
However If the intent as per CCTV footage was to genuinly cause hurt to the unfortunate animal ie.,(then the law action is justified)

Yup, so the lamborghini owner got out of his bed, sat in his car worth north of a crore, saw a puppy and said let's run over it, Ah! must be nice to catch a murderer after all.
I hope he can get the car released ASAP and pay whatever the fine is.
P.S. I myself am an animal lover but accidents happen.

Actually, that happens, both wantonly and intentionally.
I'm not accusing this guy, or saying it is true of this event. But it happens.
Now, this happened about 3 days back when dad was coming back from work. A drunk Auto Driver driving opposite on the main National Highway 66 on the fast lane. Whilst my dad hard braked and no mishap happened , it was absolutely dangerous. Two other people came and scolded the auto guy and he then turned the other way and went off. Indian roads are damn scary.

The forest is closed between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Surprised how this accident could've occurred! There's no way you can go fast inside the forest with all those speed breakers.I assume the tiger would've been in a chase and would've come in contact at the last second. Unfortunately nothing can be proven since only the post accident footage is available. A loss to the tiger population and the Creta driver's peace of mind, if he's innocent.

Surprised that some people jumped into the conclusion that this accident occured in Bandipur tiger reserve. The original video's introduction clearly states that it happened in the Navegaon-Nagzira tiger reserve (in Maharashtra). Maybe because Satish Pari mentioned his work in Bandipur?
The roads through Bandipur - NH 181 and NH 766 - are indeed closed for traffic during nights. Various lobbying efforts to lift the ban have not succeeded so far.

Yep. Back to racing on the streets and neglecting the safety and wellbeing of motorist & animals on the road. Pay the fine and on your way. Rich people have it all here in India. clap:
Creating roads that run through forests is an absolute unmitigated disaster. Tigers are not a menace to humans, in fact most forest animals are not. It is sad that such incidents do not get any more attention than the initial commiserations such as on this forum.

Initially thought it happened on Bandipur road, later realized that it happened at a different location. However, I think road through Bandipur is still open for night time usage, due to resistance from the Kerala state government. From the Wikipedia:

Nope. The ban is still in place. Kerala govt suggested an elevated corridor. Two buses each from KeRTC and KaSTRC are allowed to travel to and fro during the night. All other traffic is banned.

No, the Karnataka section of NH766 passing through Bandipur National park is closed for traffic from 9Pm to 6AM. The gates remained closed at Moolahole and Maddur check posts between these hours.
Similarly, Nagarhole NP gates remain closed from 6PM to 6AM.

This sums up the situation we are in.
Dog+Lambo > Tiger+Hyundai (> is supposed to be the mathematical 'greater than')
Both animal deaths are painful for me personally.
In yet another incident, a leopard was killed in a road accident in Ganjam, Odisha. It's heart-wrenching to witness how we humans are encroaching on their habitats, leaving them with little room to thrive.

A poignant and heartfelt gathering took place at Goodluck Chowk on August 13th, as the citizens of Pune came together to honor the memory of 'Don,' a cherished canine companion who tragically lost his life in a collision with a speeding Lamborghini on August 7th. This touching event showcased the deep bond between humans and their animal friends, transcending boundaries and touching the hearts of many.
At 6 pm, the tribute commenced at Kalakar Katta, unfolding with a touching video that captured the vibrant interactions between Don and the people he had endeared himself to. The video underscored the significant role he played in the lives of the local residents. Attendees, including animal enthusiasts, activists, political figures, and compassionate individuals, shared anecdotes, emotions, and reflections about Don, collectively honoring his memory with a minute of silence.
The tribute witnessed an impressive turnout, drawing approximately 400 to 500 people, all united in their desire to pay their respects to the departed canine friend. The event concluded at 8 pm, leaving behind an atmosphere of both somber reflection and communal support, highlighting the solidarity of the community during times of sorrow.
Swift action was taken by the Deccan police in response to the tragic accident. An investigation was initiated to locate the Lamborghini driver responsible for the collision. According to Vipin Hasabnis, Police Inspector at Deccan Police Station, the driver has been apprehended, and both the vehicle and the driver are currently in police custody. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and the driver is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing regarding the incident.
The commemorative event not only paid tribute to a beloved furry friend but also emphasized the importance of responsible driving and compassion towards animals.
