Rishabh Pant has some major abrasions on his back, no idea how he got them. As per few reports, his main injuries are to his knee and forehead. He has been shifted to Max Hospital Dehradun and will be further moved to Delhi. It will take time to recover but hope he returns to his full potential soon.

That is odd. I am not sure if the photos are mirrored. But, looking at the car's position with respect to the barrier damage, it seems that the damaged barrier section is ahead of the car in the legal travel direction. The barrier poles are also bent in the direction where the car is stopped. In that case, I highly doubt this is a simple dozing off.
More likely that either 1)the car was traveling in the other direction, jumped the median, and hit the damaged barrier section we see here, or 2)the car was traveling on the service lane, jumped the median separating the service lane and hit the barriers, or 3)the car was traveling in the wrong direction before the crash.

Most likely from trying to move/drag him out of wreckage and resulted in glass/metal causing abrasions on back?

Hope he gets well soon and thankfully no one else was hurt. What car was he driving? Getting out a burning car after an accident like that could not have been easy.

He was driving Mercedes GLE and was driving alone.

This accident occurred on Aurangabad to Chalisgaon road right at the entrance of Chalisgaon Ghat, car seems to be a baleno or a Swift. The structure of the car was badly damaged, sorry about the quality of the photos the photos were taken from my cell phone while driving.

Nope, looks like an Audi (A6?) to me. Regardless, Rishabh Pant is quite a star and given his status he should have people with him when travelling. Worst part is how media is peddling pictures of him at the hospital. Absolutely disgusting.

Lucky to be alive since the car caught fire. The crash has happened at a lesser speed hence he survived. Seems he doesn’t have very severe injuries.

Definitely seems like a Merc GLE coupe the window line did look like an A6 to me as well initially but the kink in the window line at the back is more reminiscent of suv coupes from mercedes. Also the A-pillar looks more like it is from a GLE coupe than an A6

Here is the cctv footage of the crash, seems to be traveling at high speed. Lucky to survive the crash and resulting fire. Apparently he came out of car on his own through windshield.

An Indian Express article says he was thrown out of windscreen at the time of crash. Was he not wearing seatbelt?

Came across this CCTV footage on Twitter of Pant's accident. Hope he gets well soon. :thumbs up

CCTV & Passersby recorded visuals of the accident.

Lucky guy to escape on time, read somewhere he came out of the windshield.

Also, a Tweet form a sketchy news outlet states Rishabh was not wearing seatbelt. Wonder how was that known by anyone else other than the driver himself.

Wishing him a speedy recovery :unhappy

Very sad for Rishab Pant. I can't help but think that after the crash of the vehicle Cyrus Mistry was travelling in, they would once again go into overdrive and start investigating deeper. Saving grace is no one lost their lives.

It is a Merc confirmed in a few articles. Also, if you look at the pics closely the tires have the Merc logo.
