The T-boned Dzire's pillars and frame show little signs of damage.Great.
Sheet metal smashed to bits though.

Who are injured? The Dzire's front passengers or the Honda's?

Today morning, saw this accident at International Airport Turn on NH8 (while coming from Delhi) . Could not see if the car had a tyre burst, but the right side was badly smashed. It hit the railing too (see marks)

Could not click more pics as was sitting at the other side. There was big traffic due to this at the monday morning rush hour.

Well the left too looks badly damaged

Sarvodaya,

This is a scary picture, I've seen 3 people on a 2-wheeler, but 6?? :Shockked: I'm certain that if this guy were to meet with an accident (God forbid) the blame will come on the other vehicle. :Frustrati What will it take for people to understand??

Regards,
gpa

today I saw a child who cannot have been more than around one year sitting between her father's legs on the footboard of his moped. It may have been only a short journey, and might have been driving "slowly", but still, an accident, even a mere slipup, could have been fatal for child.

If you have six-cylinder scooters on the road, why can't six people ride them? rl:

Given that his alternative mode of transportation would be walking, I can't really blame the chap.

But surely, that doesn't mean you can have 6 people on a scooter! The public transport system needs to improve and improve fast. Or we would have to deal with more casualties every other day!

Yep, the answer is cheap and efficient public transport. But that is, at the very least, a good ten years away. Until then, some folks will have no choice but to do things like travel around with six people on a little scooter.

That is, I'm afraid, the hideous truth! Sigh. :deadhorse

I don't think it is the truth.

Oddly enough, the cost and availability of public transport might be far worse in other countries, but you do not see four kids and two adults on one bike.

I don't think people do it because they have no choice, I think they do it because it is accepted and considered normal. They never consider the danger.

I agree with you. But only partly. Yes, the danger involved is never considered while performing such stunts.

However, the standard of living in other countries are higher and people can afford public transport to a large extent. The lack of employment coupled with the lower standard of living in our country result to such issues. Apart from Vietnam and a few other countries, you don't see daddy, mommy, bhaiya and Tommy the dog wrestling for space while dad weaves his way through traffic!
