The red marks on the bumper are not blood, by the way. No idea what happened to the couple on the bike though, were probably fine since the car took most of the momentum of the truck. Scared to think what might've happened to the couple had the car not been there to take the damage.

That City is in pretty horrible shape. Thank God there were no fatalities. Looking at the damage, there might be considerable ones to the tanker as well.

Damn
That City is in a very very bad shape and has taken a big hit. It will be a big repair estimate as the whole rear has gone.
The occupants must have been wearing belts otherwise their heads might have banged on the windshields.

After seeing such photos from past, i dont take Santro or Linea out at midnight, only Scorpio does the job. People are drunk, hit the cars, cause you agony and then run away. Poor City, feel bad for the owner.

Very sad to see a new car like this, thank god, the occupants are safe and in particular the couples on the two wheeler. I wish these morons (the truck driver) learn their lesson in the hard way, lose a limb or two and repent their whole life for their rash driving. I know i am very harsh and cruel but unable to stop expressing my feeling while reading these horror stories.

Their heads would be pushed back into the headrest, not forwards. Heads hit the windshield in a frontal impact.

ten or twelve years ago, I had an accident driving a hired VW Passat. I did quite a lot of damage to the front end of the car, which had to be towed 300 miles back to the hire company. They took it very well, it was not my fault, and it cost me nothing. I remained a regular customer.

On a subsequent visit, I enquired after the Passat: it had cost £2,000 (UK pounds; Rs1,60,000) to repair the front end --- and on backing the car out, the engineer ran into another car, and it had to go straight back in to have the rear end repaired.

Sorry. Off-continent, Off-topic.... I bet your sister is not so popular just now!

In the newspapers today, in Tamil Nadu.... Tanker rams bus stop, kills four.

The driver was 19, and had recently passed test.

:(

Read that in the papers today. Pretty sad state and apparently they have checked some 42 tankers post the accident.

Wonder why we always need a calamity to wake up the officials!!

19 ? How did he pass the test? and that too for a tanker. Maybe some official got richer by a couple of thousands rupees.

19 , though 18 is the legally required age, it is too much to pass a 19 year old lad to drive a tanker, the RTO who passed this test should be penalised for such a blunder.

Spotted couple of luxury machine at my painter's work shop:

E220 had a good mishap with a biker when the he entered the main road from a pocket road. The Merc had a head on hit & the biker hit his helmet on the main shield too & the driver lost control and hit an electrical post.

Driver of my friend's LC couldn't judge a gate pillar due to heavy rain which caused the break of the side indicator & scratch on bumpers.

Drunken Driving! Safari Dicor In pieces

MANGALORE, September 4, 2009: Two students of a local law college escaped narrowly when their car was smashed in an accident late last night. According to a complaint received by the police traffic west station, two youths after a session at a local tavern had driven their car in a rash and negligent manner and crashed against the road divider. The car was driven very fast and on impact it was fully smashed.

After hitting the road divider it had hit a lamp post. One will conclude after seeing the mangled car that the students are lucky to be alive.
The police said driver of the car has fractured his hand and has been admitted to the Tejaswini hospital in Kadri. Other occupant has however escaped with small bruises. Police have named the driver as Nithish a law student.
On hearing the big sound the locals rushed to spot and helped to remove the students from the wreck and took them to the hospital. The police said many accidents have happened in the same spot between Ballal Bagh and Lady Hill.
