Spotted on NH8, someone banged right into him badly.

Though there were no other damages.

May be the guy was driving back home after office now, felt bad for the car.

You're right. Better a heavy concentrated impact than decent damage all over. Repair bills are definitely cheaper when you need to replace just one part. But he may need to change the running boards below the front door too.

Details of how that happened was not reported here. Condition of OMNI is dreadful. In the same article, another accident at Trichy-Chennai NH mentioned in which an OMNI bus driver & a lorry cleaner along with another passenger died. These sort of accidents were really disturbing when we imagine ourselves with our car at either of their place

Read about the accident is this mornings paper. Horrible accident. I suppose 8 people were killed.

Gives me the shivers just looking at the Omni. This must be the most dangerous vehicle to use on the highway.

BTW, this esteem will also undergo repairs here. It was driven by a 19 year old girl under the influence of alcohol and on a rainy day, at a high speed of about 90-100, she tried to brake hard and the car ended up skidding and hitting an electric pole. (As told by the workshop owner)

She is OK without any scratches (miraculous escape) but under police custody.

The remains of the omni, after the omni v. bus confrontation are really terrifying.

In the end, however many people were in that vehicle, there would be multiple deaths, but eleven people in an omni?

The report mentions "head on collision". one or the other driver was on the wrong side of the road, but we do not know, and will probably never find out, who it was.

Two things that should be added to the list of stuff that, for the sake of safety, should be outlawed: overcorwding of vehicles, and use of trucks, trailers, etc, as passenger carriers. But hey, a family on a wedding trip gets wiped out now and then... nobody (in power) cares...

Delhi-Dehradun Interstate overnight bus toppled over at Modinagar on NH-58. Happened at night. Many injuries, thankfully no death reported.

seems the driver of the bus was trying to overtake from right side on a higher speed and road by that side is muddy, might have toppled or hit something as well.
Good to hear atleast no one's lost lives in this accident.

Vow! Seems like the bus driver wanted to do some off roading. Atleast no casualties.
