In such cases, if right amount of service charge is offered, police delays the test sufficiently to negate any possibility of drunk driving being added in list of offenses. :Frustrati

That test is very crucial piece of evidence, without which no court will prosecute for drunk driving. :sadface

This exact thing happened in a polo-hits-twowheeler case in KL, where the driver, a young IAS officer, was drunk. Rest you can imagine how the "system" would have worked. No blood sample take during the crucial hours after the accident.

I have not taken pics, some neighborhood kids had been doing similar gimmicks on twoo wheelers a year ago. Someone reported to police. I hear it cost them a good 50K approx. Residents in the neighborhood are happy now as this circus stopped ever since.

Taking the risk of sounding like a sadistic and had the camera being more stable, the helpless face of the person sitting backwards while going into the bushes would have been a priceless moment.

Why is there always a guy, who wants to manhandle accident victims in the name of help!!!

A head on collision between a Brezza and XUV5OO. 2 of 3 occupants of Brezza passed away and another one is critical. All 4 occupants of XUV5OO suffered minor injuries. Looking at the pictures, the Brezza has suffered cabin intrusion with the whole engine pushed inside the cabin. On the other hand, XUV sees no cabin intrusion with little damage to left side roof. Brezza is 4 stars as per GNCAP, XUV5OO hasn't been tested yet. I feel it's as good as Brezza if not better but we shouldn't be discussing this on this thread.

RIP!

A heavier car will always get away with less damages than a lighter car. Isn't that what we learn with the second law of motion?

The GNCAP ratings are irrelevant when the other vehicle is much heavier.

I wouldn't say irrelevant. It is better to be in a higher rated car regardless. But, if you drive recklessly, you cannot getaway without consequences. I cannot guess who's fault caused this accident, so I prefer not to comment on the accident in particular.

Just because a car is highly rated/poorly rated doesn't mean you are in a tank or rolling coffin. Most of the accidents on our roads happen due to over-speed and utmost ignorance to traffic rules. A cautious driver can safely take you from place A to B in WagonR. Whereas a reckless one cannot do that even on a BMW.

That being said, we should enforce our car companies to build (active and passive) safe cars.

True that the smaller car will face a bigger impact due to momentum transfer from the bigger(heavier)car.

But, the irrespective of the size(weight) of the cars, ultimately the car with greater resistance to passenger cabin deformation offers better survival space for the occupants.

I found this YouTube video of a post accident scene involving the 2021 Tata Safari.

It will be good to have some analysis from our experts on the forum that would provide insights into the Safari's quality.

No comments as the video is quite clear on cause and effect.

Won't comment on the safety till it is not crash tested. But it seems to have taken the hit well. All airbags deployed, almost no visible intrusion and no pillar buckling/collapse visible.

Interestingly the place where it is crashed has the 'Ati Ghai Sankatat jai...' 'Haste leads to accidents...', Ironic?
