Not cool - (even if empty) leaving your lane to maintain the race line is not a great idea, probably indecent too. Risky for other vehicles, who might not expect a lane change in a curve. Risky for you, as you might be at the edge and may not be able to handle a last minute manoeuvre.

One of the common mistakes most drivers on Indian roads do is to switch lanes while cornering or while going around curvy roads.
The right way to take on the curve is to do so by sticking on our lane and adjust/bring down the speed to the levels that the vehicle can handle and never to step out of our lane around curves.

Thank you both for calling this sort of driving out. Public roads should not be treated like closed off racing circuits.

It's all good. At the time of writing the previous post, I didn't quite consider the possibility that you may be making a generalized statement about the relation (or the lack thereof) between accidents and fog, while quoting my post as context; my apologies abound.

Cheers! Yes, I have a handful of online triggers, and fog causes accident is a biggie! I suddenly can't read anything else but that, and hit the keyboard accordingly.

A ZX-10R crash, somewhere on Bangalore - Hassan highway. As per reports on WhatsApp, the rider and one more (pedestrian?) perished.

Two more crashes involving the Harrier.

This is what happens when you don't pay attention and exercise due caution when approaching a junction. It almost looks comical, but could have been worse given that helmets were not worn.

Rollover crash of a Honda City ZX on the Agra end of the Yamuna Expressway, spotted on my way back from Kolkata 2 days ago. No details available.

I wonder how anyone can roll a stable car like the City - tyre burst, maybe, but the video does not seem to show a flat tyre on any corner.

What is the story with Ducati? Looks like a Multistrada.

Autorickshaw is on the wrong side of the road. Sadly, this "cutting the corner" style of making a right turn is now the norm.

This is almost a norm here in Delhi NCR. People just can't seem to maintin the lane/line while taking turns.

Often with a 30-degree wrong-side approach to the turning :Frustrati

I don't think dolphin city is a mentionworthy 'planted' car

Even though it might not be a 'planted' car as you say but it's still a car with one of the lowest center of gravity in India.

I imagine the driver might have hit the divider or something else resulting in a rollover. Can't imagine a city rolling over on its own

Reminds me of that old video of a two wheeler rider doing a stoppie and the auto turning into the bush, as the driver could not stop. Everyone looked calm and composed.

There appears to be an attempt to stop by the auto driver, whereas the two wheeler rider looked destined to head straight, even though there isn't a road ahead. No visible head turn or an attempt to stop. The pillion isn't even aware of whats about to happen.

Very little you can do about these small by-lane roads. Traffic rules seldom exist on a main road.
