Loaded truck falls on Tata Hexa.

Update - no one died. All five passengers in Hexa survived.

The Hexa had five passengers including driver. The car belonged to a Ambala City based business family and all passengers got saved. The accident apparently happened while a truck driver tried to save cattle roaming on the road. Besides Hexa, there was one Fortuner as well that got crushed under container. Driver sustained few injuries but rest of the passengers were safe.

His license should be revoked and he should be put behind bars. This moron should not be allowed to get behind a steering wheel. Ever.

Pictures of new Creta E diesel variant rollover as received on Facebook. Apparently scrap value of these mangled remains has been valued at 6.85 lakh

It is horrifying to see a car crushed to this extent. It is rewarding to read that the passengers come out safely. My hunch is that the passengers realized that the truck would fall on the car and lowered their heads. Else they would have hurt the neck very badly. That the Hexa body pillars held up is so amazing.

I had to once explain the concept of yielding/giving way when a vehicle joins/merges to a major road from a side street/road to a professional taxi driver of 20 years (as per him) driving experience. He was adamant that when a vehicle joins the road, it's the duty of the vehicle already on the road to give way. Couldn't convince him in my 45mins of Uber ride and had to resign myself to the fact this was how he had been driving for the last 20 years and he will continue to.

Thad, I almost always agree with you but have to disagree here. Most teenagers by their nature are rebellious and when a parent or well wisher ask them to not do certain things, they intentionally do it. And that's unfortunately celebrated by this world as well.

I do not know of this particular instance but parents can be blamed only to a certain extent (buying a motorcycle to underage and unlicensed child etc.) but beyond 18years, it's time for some personal responsibility.

Kerala tops the country in lot of good things in our country but it's one of the worst places to drive in this already lawless roads of our country in my opinion. You never know where, when and what form the danger lurks on the road in Kerala.

Only in our country, we can see these kinds of accidents. A truck driver trying to save an idiot from getting killed, got his fingers burnt. Not to mention the rear-ended Bolero pickup truck.

Everyone is bombarded with popular culture calling for speeding. There needs to be all out outrage on big media outlets promoting speed on public roads. Take a look at the recently posted video from Autocar India - Exploring Kozhikode in a Lamborghini from this time stamp 7:00 - https://youtu.be/hCPWBa5ybzE?t=420

Clearly the host is claiming the capability of the car and the driver enables one to drive fast (push hard), and that driving a Lamborghini fast on the tiny twisty streets of Kozhikode is cool/fun. A notion that speeding on public roads is a matter of capability, and skill, not luck. A 500+ hp car pushed a tiny bit on tiny streets with kids, cows and dogs is very irresponsible. This abuse of public roads needs to be called out and stopped.

OMG, The truck driver has a commanding view from the cabin, and he can easily see the police interceptor vehicle and a crowd of people in front of him, we can even rule out that the driver was drowsing as he switched lanes when the Crysta moved into his lane. May be he is over speeding or his truck might have suffered brake failure. :Shockked:

It's always brake failure with these large brute trucks. If his brakes were wobbly why did they not fix it. And why was he driving fast and cutting across traffic like a sports bike. Even if he had taken the foot of the accelerator on seeing the crowd on the road the accident would have been averted. The driver should be triednfor manslaughter and the truck/owner given exemplary fine to ruin them for life. Only then such utterly avoidable accidents can be stopped

Just sharing another point of view and don't mean to contradict your post.

Took a look at whole video and at no point the speedo went beyond 80kmph and most of the time it was hovering around 20 to 50kmph.
Maintaining these low speeds in a Lambo must be a task in itself given that these cars can hit 100kmph in just about 3 seconds.

The video has been made within legal speed limits, of-course there is no harm in some responsible fun at low speeds (atleast as per the speedo shown in the video).
As you rightly said, hope people in general refrain from using our public roads as a race track and drive responsibly by always following the traffic rules.

There is a perception among the general masses that anyone who is driving a fancy car must be a rash driver. This may not be true. Its similar to the common mis-conception that any biker wearing full riding/safety gear is definitely out to do stunts on the road.

If the brakes on the truck had failed, how did it stop at such a short distance after running into people? It seemed that the truck wanted to pass on the left and keep going, hoping people would run away.
Having said that, it's not uncommon to see people crowd around on the highway without realising thar they could be mowed down.
