Oh God! We have had a discussion in this thread itself about vehicles falling of flyovers! Sad that another couple of lifes were snuffed out. But one small mercy - at least this didn't cause more collateral damage falling on the top of some innocent bystanders below the flyover.

It is high time something is done about this - either increase the parapet wall to at least 7 - 8 feet height.

If it is deemed too costly, then at least let the damn authorities put speed breaker/humps , say at every 5 feet distance. Govt road work depts are adept in at least making speedbreakers and they will do this gladly (one can even say gleefully!) This will inconvenience the drivers undoubtedly, but at least these buggers will not do speeding and fly off the flyovers and cause misery to people below!

There is no point in just putting sign-boards and speed limit warnings. Our drivers will NOT follow them.

This is a low speed 30kmph flyover I think and can be negotiated well if driven at that speed but most people just zoom by. Also a simple raised metal fence like structure seen in overpasses above highways in many countries is a cheap solution from vehicles falling below on most situations. All our overpasses and flyovers with or without curves need them installed. No need to raise the wall with masonry. That would be overkill hindering the views and can even cause more injury.

The fencing in other countries are generally done for objects being thrown from these overpasses but little more rigid ones can help these situations as well. Examples below.

Hilarious indeed. The Sumo driver must be confused for a moment to whether thank or abuse the biker.

Below an accident happened a week ago in Kerala. 4 people lost life.

A classic example of skidding on a wet road and being absolutely taken by surprise on how the vehicle would behave in different road conditions, but had to pay a hefty price in realizing that.

Almost every car today comes with such mirrors that fold both sides. It is only older model vehicles from the early 2000 which could fold only towards the inside.

Just not bikers like this, I would say vast majority of bikers at-least in Mumbai will sneak between cars at red light to park themselves right in front of the stop line. While they are at it they either bump into side mirrors or even have the audacity to forcefully fold them by hand (all my cars have power folding ORVM and it eventually damages the mechanism). All this to go right in the front and save 30 odd seconds at most. Every time they do this my blood boils and hopefully one day they find someone in bad mood (or a goon) who will take them to task.

In the video the person (on the bike behind) can be heard laughing and enjoying it. It would sound sadist but I would laugh when they fall on their bum, they don't deserve to be on the road.

Looked like he/she aimed for the target and hit bull's-eye!. There is something called CONTROL whatever maybe the road conditions. That is, the driver controlling the car--Not the other way round. Without that 'C' word, these kind of incidents are unstoppable !.
