Here, BHPians, is a grade A example of the Chennai "pullingo" (two wheeler squid) - dashcam footage from my Scorpio, which was luckily at a speed of barely 20 kmph thanks to my having just earlier stopped for a pedestrian to cross the road. And he thankfully fell clear of my car.

hserus, that might've been a heart-stopping moment for you, quite close to your wheel I must say. Thank God he didn't hit your car and you came out safe. Squids like these ought to be caught by the police for rash driving and not wearing helmets.

Akashdeep

The median on the Old Mahabalipuram Road in Chennai usually has very pretty flowering bushes planted on it. Today I saw that the corporation has also planted a Tempo Traveler bush.

This guy on an Activa lost balance and fell. Am not sure whether he was drunk or not. While trying to pull up the scooter he mistakenly twists the accelerator and he falls again.
He should have put the engine off before trying to lift the scooter. For a split second, I thought he will crash into my car.

Sharing the clip from my dash cam.

Oh God! That is a typical situation i always dread about while driving. You don't get even a second to react - forget braking, even lifting from A-pedal won't be possible for me. As you said, luckily you had to stop and hence he didn't crash into your crash. Tyre burst on the oncoming vehicle or these kind of stupidity from them can always happen on the road and nothing much we, in this situation you, can do about it. Thanks for the post!
Cheers

This accident was reportedly in Kerala.
https://youtu.be/bKTUDsrHJIk
The driver spent half an hour on this busy stretch of the road trying to do drifts and sudden braking. He then crashed into the pole when he attempted a drift.
He was driving under the influence of alcohol and has been arrested.

I just feel bad that people are so ignorant that ,they let him do this drifting nonsense for half an hour.
Thank God that there are no pedestrian or other vehicle losses because of this stupid person.

It's a good point, but how would you stop him? One could get quickly get hurt in the attempt. Calling cops would be the idea. Maybe somebody did.

What a moron to be doing this "play" driving on a busy road. Hard to know from the video, but that car looks shiny. I wonder if it was new. Not so new now.

That fellow in the cycle was lucky and should thank the lucky stars!! And everyone else around there are lucky as well.

Jeez!! what a moron that driver is and I seriously hope his license has been cancelled and a hefty amount fined as per the norms. Someone could have informed police earlier and avoided this nonsense from happening for half an hour as mentioned in the report.

This jerk needs to be sent behind bars for attempting to kill people with a weapon! Just look at the number of people he is endangering and such careless attitude! Ah how can i discount that he was DRUNK :Frustrati

Most other places this reckless driver would have ended up with a bloodied nose. I appreciate the people of this place for being so gentle toward such an idiot.

Who can estimate his speed? I have the feeling that it wasn't that high. Side-on into a pole could have killed him if it had been.

This is not in any way excusing his tricks on the public road: inexcusable.
