How did he manage to land it there? Is that a Bhpian or a fake LTD sticker?

What exactly is going on here? The Swift jumped the canal and landed on the other side with just a broken suspension?

This is probably the safest accident in a Swift. The pure lack of weight has got this car to the other side of the canal. A heavier car would have probably nose dived/crashed into the canal bank/ wall.

Its a fake. Fake or real, he lives to drive another day.

My guess of how it might have happened

Looks like the car (Swift) jumped across that canal and landed on the other side with the wheels taking the first hit and the momentum of the car shearing the front wheels backwards from the wheel well.

Must have been doing pretty high speeds to fly clear across the canal. The occupants are relatively lucky it didn't plunge into the water.

A scooty was crushed before that woman.

Don't know why (and how) that scooty rider came in front of the truck.

Received these pictures on whatsapp. Just another 'crumple zone' doing its job.

That's just standard stuff done by idiotic two wheeler riders here in TN. They don't care about left or right side of the road, they just start going in any direction from anywhere without even checking behind. This time it didn't turn out well for that rider because of the lorry driver being more idiotic than him or due to some mechanical issue with the lorry.

Anyway, that's a very bad location for a bus stop but similar ones are pretty common across the country. Not sure what the problem with the lorry or the driver. Hope the injured get well soon.

There are so many questions this raises:
  1. Why can't the truck honk?
  2. Why are others around the place not aware of the truck?
  3. Why is no one moving away from the path of a large moving vehicle, no matter how slow?
  4. Why is the bus stopping at a T Junction?
  5. What is the Scooty Driver doing?
  6. Why doesn't the truck have an emergency brake?

The Jeep Compass has a dent as well, it can potentially have some trouble with the boot lid.

Have been in similar accidents at sub 20 kph speeds with the Yeti, the Ola / Uber behind me did manage get a dented bonnet in the process. Did get the inside of the bumper checked at a later service date, no damage apart from some scratches and paint transfers. A similar accident at a toll booth a couple of months later, the non cab i20 faired a lot better.

You'll find that kind of two-wheeler riders everywhere, what's disappointing is this breed is growing exponentially.

Can't rule out of the possibility of mechanical failures in that truck, he could manage to reverse it though.

Let her soul Rest In Peace.

Cheers!

So many things wrong here, and the tragic incident was the grand total of all these

1. Bus not stopping at a designated bus stop/ there is no designated bus stop
2. Bus stops in front of a side road
3. People getting down and getting on before the bus stops
4. People not waiting at the bus stop, waiting all over the place. On the road, on the side road, everywhere

Don't know whats wrong with the truck. But for a moment think of the scenario where the above 4 points are rectified. The truck would have hit the side of the bus. Only a few cuts/bruises to the passengers inside the bus. A tragedy would have been averted.

But then, I forget where we live :Frustrati

Got these pictures from a friend and the vehicle belongs to his friend. Accident happened because the driver fell asleep at the wheel on NH-37 at Nellie, Assam. Looks like the Brezza took the impact well after ramming to a tree. All four occupants survived, three with major and one with minor injuries. Friend could not confirm whether all were wearing seat belts.

Chennai Folks - There was a huge traffic Jam from Velachery Junction to all the way to Kamakshi hospital on 8 Feb (Friday) night
Saw broken glass pieces on the road near madipakkam signal and most likely a body wrapped by old digital banner by road side?
It took me 45 mins to cross this 3.5kms on bike.

Any info on this accident?!

Thanks

Does anyone have "inside information" as to why truckers stuck to the right?

I was told by a friend of mine recently that the truck drivers, right from their driving classes are taught to stick to the rightmost section of their lane. By doing this, they still have the buffer to swerve left, just incase an oncoming vehicle surprises them by an overtaking manoeuvre. Mostly helpful when the truck is heavily loaded. This would ‘save’ them from falling into a ditch or anything of that sort, if they’d stuck on to the left and veered due to an onrushing vehicle.

Just sharing, legitimacy still has to be probed :)

When two 'ZERO' stars go meet in a frontal crash.

7 injured in a collision between Alto and Swift.
