There is a rule which has been in effect since 2004. Only problem, the rule is valid only on Fully Built Unit from Manufacturers. Outside body builders are exempted from it.

Err.. I saw it.. and think that the front strut / shocks of Skoda took the impact rather well. And always had the feeling that Maruti's are "onion skins" (the color of esteem is not the influencing factor!)
But - from the safety of the occupants point of view - is it not better that the car is mangled up and not them?? I have only one life - and can afford to bang up a couple of cars rather than myself!!
So, if the esteem's occupants remained unharmed, I am sure the car saved a lot of their skin!!

Having said that, maybe looking at the response to the Linea, they might have got another test car.
We test drove the same car on that day around 12 noon. The sales guy said he was coming from Whitefield.

Yes it is a test car. A new one without stickering.
The photo concludes that.

My friends call me "Terminator" because I have like 7 small titanium plates and two titanium screws implanted in my face (Cheekbones and Upper pallete). I met with an accident in Pune when a new rider ran into me. I broke my left wrist, my face, lost three teeth, cut open my upper lip and had temporary memory loss. That was one dreadful time for me.

Suprisingly I still have the same Hero Honda CBZ and is running fine.

I guess there is no rule like this in India or it is not enforced.
I was also thinking in the same way about the Designing of Indian Heavy Vehicle including construction vehicle. I believe they should add Bar at front as well as Back side. Else they should put some kind of bumper in front. It will save the cars/bikes passengers in head on collision.
