Biker's throat cut and he dies after he drives into a wire stretched between two police barricades at 1 AM. Some constables have been arrested for their negligence in leaving the wire stretched at night when it is invisible.

Saw this. This is what happens when there is such a low/nil value attached to life. Those cops I guess will be back in duty soon

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Witnessed the immediate aftermath of an accident between a (thankfully) empty HCV and a dZire cab yesterday evening. This was in front of the Vajram Tiara flats on the Dodballabpur Road.

The HCV was using an illegal break in the newly laid median and the cab slammed straight into the it's front tyres. Locals were out in full force and I couldn't make out injuries etc.

That long s-curve between the HP bunk at Avalahalli and the Vishwa Vidyapeeth lane is lethal at night. Everyone is on high beam (with the gentle s-curve focusing the light directly into oncoming traffic), the road is pitch dark and deceptively speed-inducing.

Overtaking on a curve when one can't see the oncoming traffic.

Sadly another fatal error that could have been avoided by just simple common sense.

Is it because there are more than a 100 billion humans in India alone that if one goes by there are still billions other left :banghead:? Really pathetic to see no value attached to a human life in this country when even a Tiger is treated as endangered and has laws to protect it from poachers. Well if this had happened to a little old mayor or a minister, then probably it would have been a tragedy. Since its just a common man, it is only a bit news. Sad but reality.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Happened in Coimbatore. Friendly race on a main road leads to casualty. Worst part is that the car was driven by a minor. Sad but deserved, if true. Some people just can't think straight.

Quote:
Vishnu and his schoolmates, he said, used to have weekend trips often. On Wednesday, he along with seven friends left for Perundurai in Erode in two cars.
While returning, Vishnu and two others were travelling in a car and it was driven by a 17-year-old from Thirumurugan Poondi in Tirupur. The remaining boarded in the second car and they had a friendly racing. When they reached Kalipalayam Piruvu, the driver of the car, in which Vishnu was travelling, lost control over the vehicle and hit a barricade and fell into a roadside pit.

Right you are - one hot morning in 2012, I was pleasantly surprised to see the pesky and unscientifically laid speedbreakers all gone. Poof! Disappeared overnight, within the MEPZ campus, where I used to work. When I checked the news, there it was - an incumbent minister's son had just died the previous evening when he rode fast over a speed breaker in his Bullet somewhere in NSC Bose road - http://www.thehindu.com/news/cities/...le12063520.ece

So, a minister's son had to die for change to miraculously happen overnight.

Rigid iron frame sort of bullbar on that auto. The Creta's crumple zone seems to have done its job.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Obviously the crumple zones on the Creta played its part , but I have seen the video else where from an other angle somewhere on facebook ,the Creta infact crashed on to a concrete structure which caused the damage .
There is a concrete structure right where the electric posts are .

Narrow escape indeed.

Also, even on Team BHP the perception of "Top Notch" build quality is seriously questionable, going by the comment on that video. If the crumple zones were not there, that auto would have moved off at least by a few meters and a lot faster.

Narrow escape not only for the little boy but for the autorikshaw driver too.
He could have been easily ran over by Creta if there was not that culvert.

Also did you notice a pedestrian between the autorickshaw and Creta, couldn't make it out from the video is he is injured or not, the folks who gathered after the crash were running initial towards the driver and few others towards the end of the video to the pedestrian, hope even he is safe.

Watched it again and it looks like the Creta had ran over his leg / hip.

Cheers!

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

There was an accident today morning in Bengaluru at the NECE road EC exit towards Hosur. Accident involved an Etios. When I reached there around 07:45, the traffic pileup was being cleared by the Police and the Etios was being towed away.
I don't know how and what happened and if there was any other vehicle involved. Colleagues who came early told that the car had toppled. People who were there earlier must have seen it.My dash-cam captured it being towed away

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Not sure if this post is best suited here or in bad drivers thread !

It seems a two wheeler driver and a car driver drove for some time holding hands and finally lost control & crashed into a drain !!
