Caught this on my dashcam. The biker was driving ahead of me and skids over oil. He was wearing helmet which saved him. His head banged on the road but due to helmet he was saved.

He is plain lucky that the helmet took the impact before coming of his head. NEVER STRAPPING a helmet is as good as riding without one. This is common practice by most motorcycle riders.

Many a time educated people are in the same boat as the illiterate. :Frustrati

It is really the "safe" car for under 10L if compared to this segment and even some premium cars.

I miss my "Lady in Red". Wish Lineas were produced in UK.

Its built like a tank no doubt, but then tanks also can be destroyed. So nothing is 100%, drive safe.

agree:
Many wear a helmet for the sake of not being pulled by policemen. I have very often seen them take it from the tank, rear view mirror and slip it on their heads only to remove it when then pass the policemen. It may be a detterent if the law enforcement punishes if the helmet is loose, not strapped firmly as well. However, it is only when one realises that it is their life they would wear protective gear and wear them well.

Wonder how difficult is it to position another highway patrol personnel or vehicle at the other end of this diversion before actually enforcing it. It's a high speed road and there should be a method to sue the authorities for such callousness.

If there were any casualties due to the accident, I am 100% sure all blame would have fallen on the BMW for driving on the wrong side, news articles, TV reports, without any mention of the diversion as there would be no record of it.

Thanks. Moral of the story, never compromise on build quality for Kitna deti hai?

Every time my kids struggle to shut the Cruze doors or I remember my Octy's 8 airbags, I feel happy I chose to buy these cars.

A modern heavy car will always get away with less damage!

School bus collides with KSRTC bus on Kanakpura road today morning killing 3 kids.

Its really sad and disturbing news, kids are lost their lives because of negligence driving. Even after so many school vehicle accidents ,government is not able to take any tough action on this.I see regularly overcrowded vans, autos ,rash driving school vehicles in Bangalore.

Extremely disturbing. This should act as a wake up call to all schools to ensure maximum safety for its children while commuting and ensure the drivers are trained and specially alcohol free! The young kids lives has been sniffed out for no fault of theirs and this is not good.

May their souls rest in peace and may god give the families the courage to bear with this loss...

There was an accident late yesterday night in Trivandrum (near Kowdiar) in which a vRS was completely destroyed :Shockked:. Also, one person seems to have died in the accident, which as per eyewitnesses happened as the result of a late night race gone wrong (heard that they were racing against a BMW, but I am unable to confirm this).

The guy driving the vRS is the one who died. There were 3 girls also in the car who were injured in the accident, and the condition of two of those girls is critical as per the news report.

Adding some pictures that were shared by a friend.

Happened yesterday night in Kerala- Octavia vRS. Driver dead and one in ventilator is what I have heard.

Is this RS? Hopefully all of them were wearing their seatbelts. Please do share more details, if you get any.

For the benefit of those who don't understand Malayalam.
Accident happened after hitting an auto rikshaw and then onto an electric post and a tree. Eye witness claim reckless driving was the cause.
Driver lost his life and three girl occupants and the auto rikshaw driver is admitted in hospital for injuries, two of the girl seems to be injured seriously.

Given that it is a Temporary Registered vehicle who on earth will do such antics on a new vehicle :Frustrati

This is how a sleeper vehicle can turn into if at wrong hands.

Cheers.

Probably the first new RS crash in India and an unfortunate one at that. The speeds must have been really high for it to get mangled like this. There is a gentle curve in front of Raj Bhavan probably would have lost control there.

Looks like a clear case of "Show off" gone bad. For no reason putting other innocent lives in danger just for a moment of thrill. :Frustrati

The way engine has been dislodged out of the engine bay. The car would have been doing insane speeds. The video shows the electricity pole which was made of concrete complete demolished and heavily shaved tree. It is a miracle that 3 out of 4 survived the mishap.

:OT 1 out of 250 VRS bites the dust.
