Oh! What a crash. Hope there were no casualties. Dzire is going to be a block buster hit then. We have seen the crashes of Baleno & Creta in this same thread when they were just about to be launched or Just launched. Now we are experiencing the craze for both of the vehicles in the market stupid: .

"The man was on his bike and apparently collided head-on with another bike. He was apparently trapped under the wrecked bikes, which caught fire.

The police say the man probably didn't shout for help as he was unconscious from a head injury. By the time help arrived and the police put out the fire, he was charred beyond recognition"

People were busy taking videos with their mobile. No one even tried to save the man. Sad.

Do you shoulder check when changing lanes?

That's serious. Swift should have slowed down when he saw the truck coming in. Instead he just tried to squeeze past between the car and truck. I had been in situation of the white car and I had to slow down to let go such people in hurry. All the more reason for checking shoulders.

Saw this parked in Sakleshpura bus stand.

:-( Actually to begin with the pick-up guy should have stopped, visually checked and then proceeded to the primary section.

Second best thing could have been: Both Red and White (assuming white could spot the pickup) slowing down to the point where they can handle any unlikely situation.

Third best: The red could have just slowed down.

At least: The white one could have just slowed down considering the fact that just switching on your indicator is similar to just flaring your horns and flashing your headlamps to have the right of the way and not slowing down.

:-(

Indica was not visible to the Swift's driver - it was out of side view mirror's zone.

But key takeaway is -> never change lanes during an emergency. Slamming the brakes is safer.

The Swift driver might not have known that the cabbie was there but he should have known.

Simple rule: hazard in sight? slow down. Both Swift and Indica should have.

I wonder if that truck driver got clean away from them both?

The Indica was drifting into the right turn lay-by even before the Swift started moving right, and he chose to squeeze back in instead of tucking in behind.

None of the three did what they ought to have done safety-wise. Could've ended a lot worse than it did. Oh well, another day on Indian roads.

Another one in Hyderabad yesterday.

In a road rage, a Scorpio vehicle ran amok in Madhapur of Hyderabad Saturday night. The vehicle, on way from Jubilee Hills to Madhapur, lost control and barged into some moving vehicles in front of it. The Scorpio, moving wayward, also hit some vehicles coming in the opposite direction.

One person was killed and four others were injured in the incident. Two cars and four other vehicles were badly mauled. The person, killed in the accident, was identified as one Vemuri Ramakrishna, 56 of New Bakaram in the city.

He was riding his two-wheeler when the Scorpio hit his vehicle moving in front. The Scorpio went berserk at a speed of 120 km on a road of thick traffic jams. When locals complained that the driver was fully drunk, police conducted breath analyzing test on the driver and found he was not drunk. He was identified as Basanth Kumar, Assistant Manager working in Krishnapatnam Port in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.

The incident took place at Udex Complex at Kavuri Hills on the main road around 7 PM. Locals, who caught hold of Basant Kumar, thrashed him black and blue and then handed him over to the police.

Vehicle seems to be lying on the opposite lane in some videos. Mostly a case of overtaking gone wrong, or the driver of the scorpio dozed off. Most likely the latter, due to the long and tiresome journey they have taken up, and he took 6 innocent others with him.
How many similar accidents have we been seeing- cars being eaten up by the mammoth trucks. Just the cars and people who perish changes, the kind of accident continues.

If I were driving the Indica, I would slow down as soon as I spotted the pickup entering on to the main road plus I would have been honking while trying to overtake so the middle guy knows I am trying to overtake.

Found this Amaze inside Bandipur forest road yesterday morning. The place this accident happened is between 2 speed breakers which are just 500 meter apart and very sparse traffic and good visibility ahead, wonder how such a crash happened.

This appears as Maruti Dzire to me, the colour and the damages cover the identity of the car a lot...I know the spot, One would enjoy driving less than 35-40 kms/hr in tune with the serenity around but may not be the case with a few.
