Hope the Bike Rider is safe and hope another Camera has recorded the accident.

The flags and stickers on this SUV have served their purpose well. Does not matter what color the flags are - these vehicles that advertise their political affinity are simply immune to public outrage or action by the authorities. This is the sad reality. What will happen next ? My guess is that the victim (hopefully he survived) or his family ( if the poor soul did not) will be given the choice of a settlement or facing the consequence of standing up to an influential organization. The perpetrator will be handed a fine or at best a minor sentence by the courts. And life will go on. Had this beacon of civility been the victim of an incident such as this the script would have been very different.

Yesterday spotted this Indica in ORR, opposite Bagmane WTC Doddenakundi. Don't know how he ended up there.

Sadly 5 people lost their lives in this accident and 3 were injured.

Very Sad.
Even the family is not aware of full details.
One of the persons working with me mentioned that he has to go because his relative met with accident in Goa and they have no other details.
Immediately tried our site and could at least tell him what has been reported. Two of the deceased are directly related to him.
These posts on our forum certainly helps people.

NDTV website has this news with the CCTV footage. Really shocking footage, with the car going straight up the divider to hit the victims. Really sad. The article say both child and mother died.

From the second picture, looks like the car was rear ended. This is just after the MORE flyover and I think before the U turn where there is a speed hump as well.

It looks like some big vehicle rear ended him and pushed him into the drain.

Sad state of affairs here - the lady has been granted bail!

Wonder how long this mockery of the judicial system last? The accident caused death of two - one kid and mother, yet the culprit is let out on bail!

Hold on! emotion set aside, you must know that it is a bailable offense unless Lady is drunk. Loss of life is always cruel, in this case its clear that Lady is not drunk. With available info Its not possible to conclude that lady did it deliberate.

We have seen innumerable examples of people hitting the accelerator instead of brake. Yes, the person made a mistake, and lives their entire life with a stigma.

Speaking generally. Don't feel able to even have an opinion on the basis of one newspaper report of any particular incident...

Refusal of bail is done where an accused is not trusted to turn up for trial or where they may tamper with evidence or witnesses. Bail is not against justice, especially when a case may take a long time to come to court. Of course, it is an entirely different matter when the rich and powerful flee the country and/or take steps to maximise the period before trial. "Let off" is media speak: no way has a person been let off if they are still facing criminal charges.

But, if the charges themselves have been manipulated/bargained, that is a different matter again.

I feel it's pointless getting all emotional and taking sides here. First of all, like earlier pointed, the lady who was driving wasn't drunk, she just seemed to have lost control and I am not arguing that it isn't unfortunate but I'm not sure one ought to be locked up and treated harshly for a bit of bad luck.

If one has to point fingers, we must do so at the government. Why the hell are people expected to cross main roads like this? Why aren't more signals incorporated just for people to cross these roads? Why aren't there more skywalks? It is the government's fault that the mother and daughter were forced to await their fate precariously on that divider yet no one is bothered about that.
