As per this news report, it is an i20.

That is an igen i20 without any doubt. Look at the front bumper kept on the bonnet in front and its resemblance to the remaining pics below. Also the wrap around tail lamps and the the alloys are a definite giveaway

A Audi Q5 had a front side-on collision near Hiriyur early monrning and driver died. Vehicle belongs to someone from Davanagere. Have another photo that shows the driver in sad state. He had the seat belt on.
Should have been driven too fast.

Saw this Ciaz On Saturday evening just after the Bhannerghatta road junction on NECE road while towards Mysore road.

There was no other damaged vehicle closeby that could have been involved.
I wonder how it ended in that position facing the opposite direction!

Police had arrived and were using PA system to disperse the crowd who were stopping there eager to look at what had happened.
Since i had ended on the sharp stone wall, it was heavily damaged. Do not know what happened to the occupants.

This is the best snap from the video of my dashcam. This picture has been cropped from a long shot and hence the low quality. as I went closer the rescue vehicle standing there has blocked the view for the dashcam

Today evening saw this same car in front of Thalaghattapura police station on Kanakapura road but couldn't take a picture.

That looks terrible, looks like it was a high speed accident. These cars mask speed very well, hence it encourages driver's to drive even faster. What was the Registration Number ? It will be KA 17, but I need to know Series & Number of the car. My Brother's friend has an Audi Q5 in the same Silver colour, hence asking. I don't want this one to be his Q5.

Yes, it is KA-17. Deleted the pics so cant tell the exact number. Belongs to Shantala Silks owner in Davanagere. Actually the deceased was in passenger seat. The driver was not hurt.

It could be an overtaking attempt gone wrong or a nap while on the wheel.. Either way the driver is extremely lucky.

In a Ciaz it might be difficult to be facing the opposite direction but it is very easy to do in a Thar with a little help from Mahindra service centre. This happened to me once when the service centre mechanic had forgotten to connect the LSPV valve back on my Thar. I was doing sixty or seventy and it was not even a panic braking. The car went out of control and swerved and I did everything to control it. Luckily it was a wide road with almost zero traffic and I was not going fast, still I ended up facing the way I was coming from. Thar and I were unscathed but my ego as a driver got a big jolt. I got bewildered on why this could have happened after driving for more than 2 decades. Then after a bit of investigation found the culprit. If I had ended up being dead because of this miss from the mechanic, people would be saying that I was driving too fast and was not able to control the car. After that incident I have started not to judge any driver in an accident.

Looks like a small overlap crash at high speed - probably over 120kmph. There is absolutely no chance for the front passenger to survive such a crash, modern crash structures/airbags notwithstanding.

There is a very good reason the Americans started doing these tests. It reflects what happens in the real world.

Here is the IIHS video of the small overlap crash test for Audi Q5:
