Our enforcement agencies do not enforce anything. It is the job of the police to make sure that the vehicle carries only the number of persons authorised to carry. Instead, what is the use in saying "happy Pongal and drive slow" ? Just see on road the over loaded trucks, buses, cars, scooters/ bikes. And not to say, the trucks loaded iron plates/ bars jutting out without and red flag or lamps. Just see how the iron bars are carried atop the mini-trucks over hanging outside. In our country when enforcement becomes advisory, all sorts of accidents will happen. Please understand, accident is not a result of one mistake or failure. It is a result of a series of misdeeds, even one of which, corrected in time would have prevented the accident.:Frustrati

i don't know if it was an accident, but there was a ambulance in front of the Infosys campus (after ECity ph 1 toll) and lot of people gathered. wonder if a pedestrian/employee was hit while crossing the road.

anyone have any information on this?

Five adults and one infant lost their lives. Wonder what actually went wrong. Crashing into a culvert resulted in all these lives being lost. What a waste.

Such morons should not be allowed to drive again in the rest of their lifetime.

Quoting an old post of mine. Wadala RTO has revoked for life the driving license of Janhavi Gadakr. Finally some sense prevailed.

Spotted this wreckage on NH-16. Looks like the car has been rear ended by a speeding vehicle. Couldn't get any details of the accident though.

Looks like a Verito Vibe.

I thought so too initially but on second inspection it looks more like an Indica Vista. The Verito had a wider track.

It is a Vista. The exhaust muffler is the give away. The Vista has the pipe angled towards the ground.
Moreover, the Vibe has it on the left.

The tail-light remains say Indica Vista

Yes it indeed is a Vista. It still has luggage in the boot and a commercial number, looks like a loaded car on some roadtrip. The impact looks like a truck rear-ended it (OMG look at the left rear door!). Hope everyone was alright.

Saw in news, it says all perished. RIP. What a freak accident.:Shockked:

I've seen a similar accident few years back wherein an overloaded truck had toppled over a goods carrier auto. Thankfully there was no casualty. I avoid crossing an overloaded truck on a dual carriageway road where the road has potholes. This truck had toppled after going into a huge crater pothole.

Indeed. But she can very well get one from any of the other states. :Frustrati

It's high time our RTOs are centralized and digitized, so that records can be accessible all over the country.

Good to know that she had one, in first place.
And now, she might drive around without one and can get away with it very easily.
